Great location and elegant lobby. The rooms are dated and need of remodeling. The staff were polite and helpful. One in particular gave us fabulous restaurant recommendations and another took the time to explain how valet parking was actually less expensive than parking overnight in the public garage.

Location, location, location
Old historic hotel in excellent location. Staff was warm and welcoming, room was comfy and spacious except for the very small bathroom. I guess a hundred years ago they didn't appreciate large bathrooms. Would definitely stay here again despite the sketchy elevators.

Great stay! The room was nice. It’s such a historic, beautiful hotel. Very nice having Starbucks downstairs. Easy to walk anywhere downtown! Will definitely be back! Parking was a little expensive, so we found city parking a few blocks from hotel for much cheaper.

Our stay at the Francis Marion started with a small hiccup but was easily rectified by the manager, Mr. Parker. He made our stay to celebrate our 20th anniversary more special. The rest of the staff throughout the hotel could not have been nicer. We will be back!
