Unique & Charming 1 Bedroom, One Block to King St!

Just one block away from upper King Street, the epicenter of the city's renowned restaurant and nightlife district. Enjoy some of Charleston's best local dining all within one block of this rental. A few of our favorites include The Rarebit, The Ordinary, Island Provisions, Sugar bakeshop, plus many more! Relax on the private porch with a glass of wine and experience Charleston's southern hospitality. Equipped with 2 off-street parking spaces!

Please note this unit is handicap inaccessible.

The Space:

Two bedrooms, one with a King size bed and one with a full size bed. The bedroom with the full size bed is smaller but does has closet space.
The kitchen includes a full size fridge, microwave, toaster oven, range, dinnerware, and basic cooks tools. There is no dishwasher.
There is a small bar with three barstools but no formal dining area.

The historic floors are very unique! The bricks were used from the original structure that existed back in the 1800s. Pretty cool that a little piece of Charleston history is right beneath our feet!

Vrbo is a re-seller, not our website. We list openings not already booked on our site here and on other booking portals that re-sell available nights at a higher rate to cover their surcharges & booking fees. What you get for this premium: You get an easy to use mobile platform and a quality assurance guarantee from Vrbo that we as a management company will deliver the property as advertised.

Personally, we use Vrbo when traveling to remote areas that do not have strong locally based property management companies and have had good luck with it. We are happy to have our homes available on this site.

Guest Access:
This is a private apartment with a separate entrance. Guests will have access to the entire apartment.

The Neighborhood:
The property is located in the Cannonborough Elliotborough neighborhood of Downtown Charleston, which is considered the most upcoming area on the peninsula. The neighborhood is perfect for a couple or a group who is looking to fully embrace Charleston's unique charm. Step right outside your door and find a wonderfully curated mix of shops, bars, bakeries, and dining. We recommend grabbing a coffee at Island Provisions or Babas before exploring King Street, Charleston's ultimate epicenter of shops and restaurants, which is just one short block from the property. Our guests have a wide selection of walkable dinner options, some of our favorites include Chez Nous, Chubby Fish, Bistronomy by Nico, and Vern's. Come experience all that our beautiful city has to offer!

Getting Around:
Charleston is a walking city! Uber is widely available. If guests do have a car, we provide TWO (2) off-street parking spaces. We suggest bringing an economy size vehicle to help with getting around Charleston's narrow downtown streets.

Other Things to Note:
• Please note our strict cancellation policy
• Streaming device provided as opposed to standard cable
• Please be considerate of our surrounding neighbors and keep noise to a minimum after 10 PM
• 2 off-street parking spaces are provided at no additional cost
• Tesla and EV charger located nearby for guest use
• No Smoking
• Please note that the floors are the original bricks. Not recommended for guests with mobility issues.

Cute condo in prime location!
This condo was exactly what we needed for a weekend girls trip. The space was quaint and had everything you could possibly need. The bed was very comfortable and they even greeted us with a bottle of wine - how sweet! Location was walkable to shops, bars and restaurants. Only con was that it was pretty loud at night due to street traffic and people walking by but they equipped the room with a noise machine which was helpful. I’d definitely recommend!

The apartment was close to everything, was very clean and had everything we needed. It was a little misleading on the size from the pictures, but over allnwell worth the price

Beautiful apartment, comfy beds, and just enough space for us to clean and recharge. Neighborhood was centrally located, although a bit rundown- still felt safe. Would definitely go again.

Great Location and Easy
Owners were easy to communicate and work with. Great Location. I drove a GMC Sierra Truck...tight parking, but I was ok in my Truck. The Unit is close quarters...but, worked fine for our group of 2.

You can’t beat the location! Though the space is smaller than it appears, it really was all we needed for a wedding in Charleston. We were also able to check in early which was great so we could go out and start exploring. Highly recommend!

Small but Doable
The apartment worked fine for the three of us. Sisters and a daughter who are very comfortable around each other. The owner is very up front about what you are getting. The location is close to downtown, although we never walked, it was way too hot (we were there in June). There are two bedrooms and one closet in the larger bedroom, the main room has a love seat and a chair, no coffee table. The floors are cobblestone so bring a pair of flip flops to wear around the house when you get out of bed. It would have helped if we had hooks to hang things, there were lots of spaces where these could be added. The only issue we ran into was there were a group of women staying upstairs. When they walked around, you could easily hear their footsteps and talking. Before the girls got there, there was a family upstairs and we didn't hear anything. You just might ask if the upstairs is rented. I don't know if I would stay here again, I might look for a place with a few more amenities, but the price was right and you get what you pay for.

Ok but needs a lot of TLC
First of all, the location is great. Close the restaurants and shops. It has 2 parking spots assigned to the unit but if your car is bigger than a midsize sedan or small SUV don't bother. Super tight and hard to get in and out. The unit is super small. The bathroom sink is so small when you wash your face you get water all over the floor. Used the kitchen sink after first time. The furniture is terrible, dresser that the drawers are hard to open and close and the knobs have really long screws inside that could snag your clothes if you are not careful. The rest furniture looks like garage sale cast offs. No mirror in the main bedroom?? Only the bathroom mirror and 1 hanging on the 2nd bedroom door. The bathroom shower had mold on the walls, yuck!! Very loud as well. Sounds like elephants are walking around upstairs and you can hear every person who walks by outside. No cable, only a roku, If you have not used one before there are no instructions. Really too bad because it could be super cute with a little effort and TLC.

Great location, number of other unfortunates.
If all you're looking for is a great location where you can easily access King Street shops and restaurants, this is a good option. We stayed here for a wedding at the William Aiken house, and it was only a 5-8 minute walk, which was great for us. Everything else unfortunately was not very enjoyable. There is not room for two cars in the designated parking area, no matter how you try and maneuver the cars. The bathroom is tinier than I anticipated (was not able to blow dry/style hair in the bathroom). We only had two people staying here, and we felt a bit crowded. The positive is that the master bedroom is quite big and has a huge bed - (but unfortunately the bed squeaks with any movement; sounds like the headboard needs to be tightened). We also had an issue where the smoke alarm began beeping in the middle of the night, and couldn't find any batteries to replace it with, so it just beeped the entire night (from about 2AM until we decided to leave). We also had an issue where the maintenance man for the building parked in our spot(s), so we had to find street parking on a busy Friday - which was less than ideal, especially since we had things to carry. If you have smaller kids (or much older guests), or are walking in heels, keep in mind that the cobblestone floor is rough and uneven (its a cool design feature, but after reading another review saying the same thing, I packed padded slippers). Overall, great location for us, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Great space for small group!
3 girlfriends and I booked this place for a weekend in Charleston. It was a great space for the 4 of us. It was super small, but we just needed a place to sleep and get dressed. 5 people would have been too many. The beds are super comfortable! It’s easy to find and walking distance to all of the bars and shops on King Street. You get two parking places, and they are super responsive. We even got to check in early! Yes, the sink is super small, but there’s a good sized kitchen sink too. I definitely recommend this place for a small group.

Tiny, Quirky, Good Overall
Well, there are pros and cons. First I must say, the place is tiny. The master bedroom is a decent size, but the other bedroom is more like a closet. I would not recommend this choice for more than 3 people. Perfect for a couple with 1 child or with a dog. The main pros are the location and the price. It's great to be such a short walk from King (about a block from the oyster bar called Darling), and most VRBO's in the downtown area are more expensive. The king bed is also important for us, and it was pretty comfy. Off-street parking is another big plus. This place is cute and quaint. The floor is a combo of brick and cobblestone that must be 200 years old, and it's very cool. However, it is in no way level. You can't take a single step and hope to put your foot down on something flat. Not great for stumbling barefoot to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Speaking of the bathroom, the sink is ridiculous. I think it's about 13" wide and 7" deep. Too small for anything but washing your hands, and even with that, you won't manage to keep the water inside the bowl. There is obviously no place at the sink to set anything down, but there are two nice shelves above the toilet that are great for storage. We had a moment of panic when we couldn't find any towels or washcloths, but eventually located them in the dryer. Two lights were out when we got there, but a super nice guy named Ken came to fix them for us within a few hours of me reporting the problem. Bottom line, this place is not fancy in the slightest, but it is very adequate. The people are very nice to deal with.
