Not a good experience. Stepped in dog poop in the lobby. Homeless encampment next to it. Had to switch rooms because water came up through the sink when taking a shower and got all over floor and rug. Room 316. Definitely not a new issue. The room smelled terribly of mildew and paint was peeling in shower and bubbling on baseboards. They almost weren’t going to switch us until we were insistent. Tried to say there were no other rooms but then moved us to a suite which wasn’t much better. Small throw pillows on bed. Seems these types of hotels are using them now. The vanity area is very small. Breakfast was good. Pool was not open. I don’t think it was ever opened this year.

Even though it was a non smoking property, it smelled like cigarette smoke in the lobby and the halls, the perfect need to be carpet's definitely need to be cleaned and or replaced. Very humid and carpets were damp or wet.

As is obvious I booked through Expedia. They charged $100 for using a third party which “will be refunded after the room is inspected”. The room was in as good a shape when we left as it was when we got there except the dirty towels on the floor by the tub. They haven’t refunded my $100. I could have stayed in some Blue ribbon, 5Star, swanky place for the kind of money this room has cost me. So either never Comfort Inn and Suites or never Expedia again. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I’m no fool.

Not as nice as I expected based on the reviews and ratings. Bad area, police everywhere. Moldy bathroom. Also they make you give them a $100 deposit on top of what you pay for the room when you book through Expedia or other 3rd party site. Was not expecting an extra $100 fee that won’t be credited back to me for like a week. Overall, would not stay here again.

We came to Kannapolis right after a stay at a Comfort Inn & Suites in Maryland and saw a night and day difference. Our room on 1st floor here was clean but very humid and stunk from dampness the entire 2 nights. We bought a room freshener which had little effect. I'm certain the management was aware of it and disappointed that they were renting out a room with such an issue. The other Comfort Inn was pristine , provided service with a smile, and offered complementary bottles of water and cookies when you engaged them. Kannapolis had staff that didn’t make eye contact unless you went to the desk.and can use a face-lift. Breakfast was very good at both locations. At Kannapolis, Donna was a 5-star employee taking care of breakfast for the guests. She's the reason my review is a 3 instead of a 2. Maryland - 5 stars - fantastic Kannapolis - 3 stars - it was okay
