Summary:
Our spacious, classic 1 bedroom condo has been restored and includes a fully-equipped kitchen and spacious living room with a queen sofa bed. Other features include ultra-fast WiFi and Hulu Live TV. Enjoy a coffee or cocktail on the covered porch. Elegant architecture, trendy boutiques, and a genuine neighborhood atmosphere make Elizabeth the ideal destination. Located on the Trolly Line with direct access to Plaza Midwood, downtown, and Novant Hospital. Short walk to Independence Park.

The Space:
The Home Collection provides all the comforts of home with unmatched design and hospitality. We own over 40 different residences all within two miles of downtown Charlotte!

Founded by a third generation Charlottean, our mission is to give you an authentic Charlotte experience and offer a range of accommodations in safe and historic neighborhoods while providing the most-deluxe furnished residences in Charlotte. Welcome home!

Check out all of our residences at our Host Profile. We offer discounts for long-term stays, so please ask. Well-behaved, quiet pets are allowed in most of our properties with a pet fee.

Our beautifully appointed condo in the charming Hawthorne building is in the desirable and walkable Elizabeth neighborhood. Kick back, relax, and enjoy our complimentary snacks and beverages.

This second-floor residence is full of artwork by local artist Nico Amortegui, well-known for large-scale paintings and installations throughout NC and the Smithsonian.

Upholstered furniture in the spacious living room provides comfortable seating for you to enjoy the flatscreen television with both streaming and Hulu Live. There is a pull-out sofa bed just in case you need an extra bed.

Ultra-fast Wi-Fi and a large desk allows business travelers to stay plugged into their busy schedules.

The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, etc. and the adjacent dining room comfortably seats four and includes all the place settings.

The main bedroom has a king-sized bed with a flatscreen television, and comfy chair. The bathroom is equipped with Nest bath products for your convenience.

Our residence is in historic Elizabeth, one of the nicest, most pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods in the city where generations of prominent Charlotteans have made their home. Immerse yourself in tree-lined streets, beautiful parks, and vibrant local scene await.

Hawthorne Avenue is the heart of Charlotte’s health care district. Plaza Midwood and Uptown are a short ride away on the streetcar.

This incredibly safe community provides an ideal place for walking or jogging, and you are just a half mile walking distance from more than 40 locally owned restaurants (Italian, Mexican, Cajun, and Mediterranean). For breakfast, try Central Coffee or Villani’s Bakery. Our favorite full-service spots include Customshop (local cuisine), Cajun Queen (Louisiana soul food) and Intermezzo (Italian).

If you are looking for local gems, check out The People Market, Menya Durama (Ramen), and Moo & Brew (burgers). My favorite BBQ joint is Midwood Smokehouse (but this is a touchy subject in the crossroads of BBQ).
Have a beer at Legion Brewery, a drink at the infamous Thirsty Beaver (Mick Jagger’s favorite spot), or a cocktail at the Crunkleton. Many of our neighborhood restaurants have patios that welcome dogs.

If shopping is on the schedule, you will find many locally owned shops on the ‘Plaza Piazza,’ including antiques, fine gifts, wines, and bespoke clothing for men and women. Elizabeth is also a neighborhood with a vibrant nightlife. If you’re looking for an exciting place to stay in Charlotte, you’ve come to the right place.
Uptown Charlotte is only one mile away and a short walk or ride to the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC Stadium, Hornets/Spectrum Arena, Knights Baseball Stadium, Discovery Place, Convention Center, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, Mint Museum, Spirit Square, Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture, Discovery Place Science, and NASCAR Hall of Fame.

A workstation is available for rent during your stay for $10 per day. This includes a 32” monitor, wireless keyboard, and mouse.
We have a very strict non-smoking policy and there is a substantial penalty for guests that violate this policy.

Guest Access:
The entire apartment is yours for your stay.

The Neighborhood:
Welcome to Elizabeth, a captivating neighborhood nestled in the heart of Charlotte that embodies the perfect blend of historic charm and modern vibrancy. Immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of this sought-after destination, where tree-lined streets, beautiful parks, and a vibrant local scene await.

Step into a neighborhood that seamlessly combines the elegance of historic homes with trendy boutiques, inviting cafes, and acclaimed restaurants. Indulge in the culinary delights offered by renowned chefs, who bring flavors from around the world to your plate. From upscale dining experiences to casual cafes and vibrant bars, Elizabeth has something to satisfy every palate.

Stroll through the lush greenery of Independence Park or take a relaxing walk along the picturesque sidewalks. Breathe in the fresh air and embrace the serene ambiance of the neighborhood's numerous parks and green spaces. With their well-maintained trails, peaceful picnic spots, and playgrounds, these pockets of nature provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Established in 1897, Elizabeth is the second oldest streetcar suburb in Charlotte. Given its close proximity to Upton, Elizabeth became one of the most fashionable residential areas in Charlotte in its early days.

Because much of the neighborhood was developed in the early 20th century, Elizabeth's trees have had time to mature. They now form a canopy over most of Elizabeth's residential streets. In addition, Elizabeth is more pedestrian-friendly than most Charlotte neighborhoods, businesses and residences are in close proximity, and most roads have sidewalks.

One of the many advantages of staying in Elizabeth is its unbeatable location. Situated just minutes away from Uptown Charlotte, you'll have easy access to the city's top attractions, cultural landmarks, and exciting entertainment options. Whether you're catching a game at Bank of America Stadium, immersing yourself in art at the Mint Museum, or exploring the vibrant nightlife of the city center, everything is within reach.

Retreat to your delightful accommodation, where comfort and style blend seamlessly. Unwind in the cozy living space, prepare a delicious meal in the fully equipped kitchen, or enjoy a glass of wine on the private patio. Designed with your comfort in mind, your stay offers a tranquil oasis to recharge after a day of exploration.

Experience the captivating allure of Elizabeth, where history meets modernity and where the city's energy intertwines with a sense of tranquility. Book your stay now and discover the unforgettable experiences that await you in this charming neighborhood in the heart of Charlotte.

Excellent Spot
We stayed here for seven weeks and really enjoyed it. Comfortable, convenient and very close to the downtown area. Street parking was not an issue and the property was quiet. If ever back in Charlotte, we would book this again.

Stay here for a Great Charlotte Visit!
The location of the apartment is great. The tram stop is across the street. The neighborhood is in walking distance of shops and restaurants. The apartment is spacious and well lit with a dining room and kitchen which will make any chef happy. The furniture and beds were comfortable. The covered porch is great for morning coffee or happy hour.

Outstanding
Loved it! The boho chic decor , extremely comfortable king bed, charming unscreened porch perfect for breakfast, and many thoughtful details such as: desk in living room, small coffee bar with stools in kitchen, nonslip mat for shower, plenty of closet space with beautiful wooden hangers, blackout curtains in bedroom and white nose machine, umbrellas in hallway to serve all four units. The very well appointed kitchen included blender, Brita pitcher, colander, cutting boards, knives, flower vases, and welcome food and seasonings. On James's suggestion, we walked down Bay St to see beautiful vintage houses and over to Central Ave shops and International Plaza Midwood. James was very helpful when our car broke down and we needed extra night(s) to get it fixed. He extended us a night in #4 and offered to move us over to #1 for more nights. Now we could relax and enjoy our vacay. When we need lodging in Charlotte again, we'll choose a property that James and Jim own.

NCAA tournament visit
This is a wonderful place. It is nestled in a quiet neighborhood and 4 blocks from the streetcar that takes you directly to the center of the city. The unit is clean and comfortable. We were also surprised by a generous welcome package when we arrived. Access and parking we're very easy.

Great weekend
Great neighborhood , lots of good places to eat within walking distance, nice decor, and the host is exceptionally good at communicating. He even told us about things to do that particular weekend. We would stay there again when we are in Charlotte.

Another great stay with the Home Collection
For the second (and certainly not the last) time in less than 6 months, I've enjoyed a relaxing stay in a Home Collection property. Once again, the property was well appointed with eclectic art and tasteful furnishings; thoughtful amenities such as ironing board and laundry baskets; and of course the welcome package of fresh fruit, pasta and pasta sauce, wine and other adult beverages. The upbeat residential neighborhood is exceptionally well kept, the neighbors are very active and super friendly, and there are plenty of well run small businesses within walking distance that cater to every need. As always, my stay was too short, and I look forward to my next stay in a Home Collection property in the fall.

Can't wait to come back!
This was our first time in Charlotte. We can't wait to come back! From the moment we drove by we both knew it was going to be a good experience and we were not disappointed. The apartment was just perfect. Enough room to spread out and cozy enough to snuggle up. The hospitality was above and beyond. We got into Charlotte at 6 am and asked if we could get into the place before 3. They were so gracious to us , they got us in before 11! Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. We are planning to be back soon and we are looking forward to another wonderful stay at your place!
