*2025 calendar now open for bookings through end of March*
There are plenty of activities such as hikes and exploring the creek on the property that guests can stay at the cabin comfortably without having to travel much during their stay. Alternatively, the cabin is located between Chattanooga, TN/Dalton, GA and Ellijay/Blue Ridge, GA so that an hour drive in either direction opens up the possibilities of exploring vineyards, breweries, breathtaking hikes, restaurants, and more! The owners visit frequently and have a large list of things to do within an hour drive of the cabin.
The cabin is situated at the intersection of the Chattahoochee National Forest, Fort Mountain State Park, and the Cohutta Wilderness. This cabin was built on the side of a mountain to the specifications of its original owner for his wife's dream home. The cabin has a whole house generator, mountain spring water, and propane for heat to make it capable of being totally off-grid if necessary! There is utility-provided electricity, but there are not any power outages with the whole house generator!
The cabin location requires a drive of 3 miles on a recently re-graveled, mountainous road. The owners and service technicians drive 2WD vehicles routinely on road, but guests who do not travel on gravel, mountain roads regularly are often more comfortable with 4WD or AWD vehicles.
The cabin sits on over 20 acres of explorable land with a beautiful waterfall visible from the porch and a crystal clear swimming hole located just a short hike down the creek.
The cabin itself is peaceful and luxurious. The main entrance to the cabin does offer a no step option with a ramp off from the driveway. (Please note the driveway and ramp are still at a decent incline.) A smart lock is on the main entry door for convenient, contactless check-in. The spacious bedrooms, located on 3 different levels for added privacy, can accommodate up to 12 adults. The main living area is great for entertainment and flows into the dining area and kitchen for a very open concept. You can also cozy up by the gas fireplace with a good book or conversation.
Don't forget to challenge your friends or family to a game of cards, billiards, or foosball in the game room!
Whether it is hiking, swimming, exploring or relaxing on the back deck overlooking and listening to the sounds of the creek, this cabin is your getaway spot!
Other things to note:
We have over 20 acres of explorable property, and there are many hiking destinations just a short drive away. there are also multiple property owners along the road, so please only hike on our property when in the neighborhood.
The cabin is located in the wilderness and you’ll likely encounter some of the local wildlife during your stay.
Black bears are common in the area and have been seen frequently. There is a free county drop off for trash that we utilize when visiting. We typically just take a bag with us and drop off on our way out. We have a 'bear box' for trash on the far side of the driveway should you find yourself unable to take the trash to the drop off. Please DO NOT leave trash outside!
Another important note is that shooting firearms on the property is not allowed. While the cabin is tucked away with lots of mountainous landscape, there are permanent residents/other guests, as well as propane tanks, trails, etc. within the proximity. It is a safety measure for our guests.
Our luxury 36" gas range has a safety feature which requires the timer to be 'ON' for the oven to operate. The stovetop works without a timer.
We are the first cabin in the area to provide Starlink internet to our guests! We have used it ourselves and have been able to stream shows without difficulty.
The cabin is equipped with a generator that will kick on and power the whole house if you happen to lose electricity during your stay. If you hear the generator running then no need to worry as the generator doing it’s job and powering the cabin!
There is a wood heater downstairs that is off limits. We have central heating, so this is not needed. Also, our insurance prohibits use of a wood heater in a log cabin, as this is a fire hazard. This does not apply to the gas heater in the main living room space. Please use and enjoy it to the fullest!
There is a propane grill available on the upstairs balcony. There is an ACE hardware in Chatsworth that will fill the propane tank for you if you find the tank empty.
The nearest grocery stores are located in the Chatsworth/Eton area (10 mins drive once down the gravel road). Located there includes an Ingles Market (Chatsworth and our usual go-to), Food City (Chatsworth), Super Saver Cost Plus (in Eton), and more. The closest Walmart is in Dalton.
Waze or Apple Maps will take you directly to the address. Google Maps is not recommended.
The nearest airports are Chattanooga, TN at one hour away, and Atlanta, GA at two hours driving time. The cabin includes plenty of parking, but the driveway is steep. We recommend going up the far right side of the driveway and backing down the driveway at the same spot for the smoothest route.
The closest hospital is AdventHealth Murray in Chatsworth.
