My stay was wonderful but you thieves charged me $323.00 more than the hotel's price for 4 nights. I will never book through Hotels.com again and will shout it loud and clear on social media that Hotels.com is a grift. On our last night the hotel's price for a room was $181 and you charged me $429. You have no phone number on your site and no way to get this straightened out.

The Read House takes you back in time with the beautiful decor, music and uniforms of the gentlemen there to greet you upon arrival. Our room was in the historic tower and felt luxurious with a comfy bed and pillows. The front desk was more than helpful and courteous. The one and only complaint, and to my husband it may be big enough to not return, is that the shower has no shelf or caddy to put your soap or hair products. There is a thin little strip where they left the sample shampoo but it kept falling off and my husband said bending over constantly to retrieve your items is annoying and a slipping hazard.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It’s an amazing vibe with tons of really interesting antique features. The staff was incredible and all of our request were completed within 10 minutes! The lobby bar has great drinks and food and a good happy hour. Bridgeman’s chophouse is a must! Overall, this was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back! Highly recommend paying to valet park as it’s quick and easy, no matter how many times you have to leave during the day.

One elevator wasn’t working so wait times were long with no stair access. Valet parking seemed to be the only option ($25) despite the email saying parking was only $15. Valet wait times were also long. Rooms showed their age but were clean. Walls are thin so hear alot of hallway noise. The lobby vibes are cool but after that the stay was lacking. Would not revisit.

Beautiful hotel! Spacious rooms. Staff were very friendly. Wonderful atmosphere. Location is less than 15 min walk to aquarium or the Choo Choo. Only has valet parking.

The Read House is a beautiful property with a ton of amenities in a walkable region of town. The only problem was a heavy smell of sewage that would come and go from our A/C unit in room.
