Nice place - very comfortable except for the mosquitoes (not specific to his hotel of course). I mentioned this to the front desk and they informed me that there was an electric mosquito device in the room and to look for it. When I got back to my room later that day, someone had put it on the table for me!
The staff was helpful even to the extent of writing a note for me in Chinese for the movie theater at the corner.
Staff is wonderful.
Location is great - just off a main boulevard where you can catch the bus to the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center (Bus 64, change to line 87 at the zoo stop). The nearest metro is about a 4 or 5 block walk away past some interesting buildings that appear to be new buildings built in the old Chinese style.
Across the street and slight to the right of the entrance is a wonderful open air restaurant pedestrian mall which was a delight. The only issue with eating in the open air was the mosquitoes! See the pic of my whole fish dish - HUGE & delicious from the open air restaurant closest to the hotel.
Breakfast was just OK with a charge for coffee (15 CNY ~ $2.25 USD)
Bed was nice, AC worked well, shower was great. This was yet another hotel in China where the bathroom as GLASS WALLS whereby the person in the bed area can see INTO the bathroom. Fortunately, there is a blind that can be closed, but the blind is on the OUTSIDE of the glass wall - very bizarre design!
