On arrival our room wasn’t clean and we had to ask for the housekeeping team to come back and clean our room. The breakfast was ok not much choice and very limited and not replenished frequently. On leaving the receptionist was on the phone nodded to me as part of the checkout and I was on my way. Not the service I would have expected.

Beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds, room was immaculate and has been refurbished to a really high standard. The staff were really helpful and friendly, we had a problem with our initial room and Lucy on reception kindly upgraded our room to a suite. It was a superb room, the views over the garden were incredible and we thouroughly enjoyed staying at Crabwall Manor. Would highly recommended this hotel.

We stayed there for a very reasonable price which allowed us to enjoy other things on our trip. You could tell the property had been restored, designed and decorated well but it showed almost everywhere a need for some tlc. For example there were lots of areas that the paint and plaster were falling off, dirty walls, stained furniture etc. Because of the above it made me check basics, the furniture wasn’t all clean, the bed however was so comfortable, the bedding and towels were crisp white and clean. Just a same the rest hasn’t been maintained and cleaned well. I did ask to change rooms explaining my reason was due to cleanliness, the second room we were given however was just the same.

Good location for Chester.

Pros: Swimming pool and spa , with super bedroom.
Cons: Better lighting for ladies to apply makeup.
Location: Just put side Chester,best location for Chester, Wirral and Ellesmere Port.
Comfortable room with excellent bathroom. Swimming poll and spa very good. Fourth visit this time,will return again.

Worst for a long time

Pros: The room was a good size
Cons: Everything!
It's a long time since we stayed in a hotel as bad as this one. The main problems were: Room: the window wouldn't shut: it was cold and insecure and the handle was hanging off. We asked if someone could fix this but it seemed they had no maintenance staff available so the Duty Manager came to the room and did eventually manage to close the window. He offered us complimentary drinks in the bar as an apology but was nowhere to be seen when we went down so we didn't even get those. The bathroom door was also difficult to open/shut and didn't even have a proper door handle. One bathroom light didn't work and one of the reading lights worked only intermittently. The "complimentary toiletries" were 3 small tubes; enough for 1 of us to bath/shower once but no more. The kettle was filthy. The Spa: we thought we were paying so much because we'd be able to relax in the spa. The first problem, however, was that there are only 6 loungers, all of which were occupied, so there was absolutely nowhere we could relax, even with only a few people there. There was paint peeling off the ceiling and a vent above the jacuzzi from which condensation was dripping. The gym was too cold to use and the heater in the men's changing room was blasting out cold air. There was a spin dryer for costumes in the ladies changing room but my wife didn't use it because it made a terrible noise which made her think it was faulty.There wasn't a dryer in the men's and also no soap in the showers.
