TV remote did not work and several times a day there was a sewage odor throughout the apartment. It is a basement My first VRBO stay and will be my last. This is why I am a “hotel “ person.

This was an excellent property. We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely apartment accommodations. The Andersonville area is just a few blocks away and includes restaurants, artisan shopping, and walkability. Also it was close to some of the Broadway Ave theaters where we saw a show. It was easy to take a train back toward the city. Our daughter lives up north that way and We definitely would stay there again.

Perfect spot for a Loyola move-in or stay for visiting college
We booked this spot to move our son into Loyola and is was perfect. We enjoyed the neighborhood and walked to the lake (about a 20 min walk there) and local restaurants were amazing! Very convenient to have Walgreens within a couple blocks too!

Very cute neighborhood. Simple interior design made it a cozy garden apartment. Beds were very comfortable. Laundry is shared with building. Can’t use the backyard but the Adirondack’s in front are lovely to people watch and have coffee. Would coma back again.

Review of Andersonville property.
Overall, this property was not bad. The management company that ran this listing had lightning quick responses to my questions. Check in was easy as it was a lock box outside. Location is great. Very safe. Close to cafes and restaurants. There is a train station about 20-30 minute walk, depending on how fast you walk. Washer laundry in the back, shared with other residents and free. The cons I think this is a con for most short term rental property. Floors are not the cleanest. I suspect the cleaners just vacuum and not mop hardwood/tile floors. You can hear people walking upstairs. Probably why there are ear plugs in the night stand drawers. To get to the garbage/recycling cans, you have to go through the back yard. Sometimes the long term residents let their dog out in the backyard. Dog was friendly but just a warning to those who aren’t dog people. Parking can be a little difficult, but not impossible. When coming back at night, you may have to park a minimum block away, unless you get lucky. But that’s major city problems. Overall this property was good. Location is great. Very safe neighborhood. Most of the cons are out of the hands of the property managers. Would recommend to people visiting chicago

Almost Perfect
My family had not had a family vacation for over 8 years. My daughter recently moved to the area and wanted to show off Chicago, so we managed to gather the whole family (of five) and stayed in this VRBO altogether. Says it slept 6, but with three 6 foot+ family members, it slept our five comfortably. The kitchen was great and stocked with all the cookware needs. Dishwasher worked great. Having only one bathroom= okay- we made it work. The area/situation was great. Easy walking distance to the Red line and street parking as they said was good. We had three things we had issues with. One was there was a closet door off its hinge and propped there (not in our way- but we certainly didn't want to be blamed for damage) and a couple of the couch pillows and a bean bag had rips/wear and again, we were concerned about being charged for things we did not do. Being from the south with central heat and air, we didn't know how to operate the cooling system or find the thermostat, so we just slept hot at night and/or opened windows. (Our bad for not contacting the rental facility- but we soon found out that was difficult anyway.) The third thing is the mututally used (with neighbors) clothes dryer wasn't working, so I emailed who I thought was correct (by facility email instructions) was the right person, then was told to email/contact someone else with no email/phone given for same. Just flet like we were getting the run around. So just went to a nice local laundromat.

It was alright
I wasn’t able to use the washer and dryer at all during our stay because there was always clothes left in it from other tenants connected. I wasn’t told there was a dehumidifier, much less that needed to be emptied, and it almost overflowed before I noticed to dump it. The rooms were hot and very humid also, which makes sleeping difficult. I was also unable to connect directly with the property manager. Other than all of that, for the price, it was a decent stay and we had a good time overall.

Amazing property!
I was grateful to stay in this property for the week I was in Chicago recently. The unit was very nice, albeit the ceilings aren’t super high up so those on the taller side may end up bumping your hand against it as you stretch. The check in process was simple, excepting that I had to try a few different times to get the ID verification system to work on my phone. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The location was nearly ideal for me. There were two flies when I entered the unit which stayed guests the entire time, but otherwise the unit was incredibly clean. I would certainly stay here again.

Good Homebase for exploring
We enjoyed our stay here! Kitchen had what we needed, house was stocked, and parking on the street wasn’t too hard to find. I didn’t realize the washer/dryer was shared with other members of the building or I’d probably packed a bit more clothes for the kids but it was a speed queen so could wash quick when it was free. It was a bit dusty but that can happen quickly in the lower level of a home. We booked the home for 6 people and there was a blow up mattress for the 6th person but no sheets and blanket for it so you may want to specifically request that if needed. Was within walking distance to a grocery store (Osco Busso or something like that) were we found anything we needed for cooking. We would stay here again and go eat Swedish pancakes and crepes at Svea restaurant.
