The room was decent however the water pressure in the shower was awful , also it was either a steaming trickle or a cold trickle. Also on the 2nd day they failed to clean the room. They offered to clean but I was back in my room at 4 and it was too inconvenient. I will not stay here again.

I found little things at this hotel annoying and generally thoughtless of what a guest might need or want. For example, hand lotion was provided in a dispenser beside the bathroom sink but no hand soap, not even a little paper-wrapped packet. I had to reach into the shower stall each time I wanted to wash my hands, just to get soap from the dispenser there. The mattress was fine, but I hated the pillows. They were large, hard, heavy and cumbersome to adjust in the night. I woke up several times with an ache in my neck that required ibuprofen to relieve. I appreciated having an ice bucket with plastic liner in my room, but there were no signs anywhere telling me where I would find an ice machine. When I tried to call housekeeping to find out, the phone just rang and rang. I ended up carrying my ice bucket down to the lobby, then had to wait in line to ask the receptionist where I could find ice. It turned out that ice machines are located on two floors only, but even there I found no signs to guide me to them. I had to tote my ice bucket around the entire third floor until, by luck, I found what I was looking for. To me, things like that reveal a lack of attention to the details of what a guest might need or want during their stay. On the other hand, the event that I was there to attend was handled very well. Good food and service in a nice room. So there's that.

My fiancé and I have stayed at the Hilton Chicago/Northbrook a few times, however, the most recent time was exceptional and I must share it with everyone who is trying to find a place to stay when visiting the Chicago area. I realized I left my airpods behind 20 minutes before my flight boards, and my fiancé got in touch with the hotel immediately. Even though they were not able to find my airpods (yet), the lengths the hotel manager went to try to find them was above and beyond.

The photos of the property are very deceptive. This hotel looks and smells old. IT IS NOT WORTH $250.00 per night !!!!! The rates are not justified AT ALL !!!!! And to add insult to injury, Hilton Chicago Northbrook charges for water, wifi, and breakfast even after paying $250 per night for a 2 star room. The picture of the hot tub is DECEPTIVE!!! It is regular bath tub with jets on it. Hilton Chicago Northbrook looks like they took over a Motel 6, cut the grass and hung a Hilton sign on the building. I feel like I got RIPPED OFF!!!

The only thing I didn’t like was them leaving bottled water on the counter then as you grabbed it you saw the tag that charged you $3 if you opened it.

I paid $165 each night and paid for another room for my sister. This was a get together to see cousins we barely know and to see our only surviving aunt (96 years old) Stayed three nights. No housekeeping at all! I was told later that if I wanted my room cleaned and towels exchanged, I would have had to scan a code on the night stand and request it through my cell phone! How would I know that? Front desk never mentioned it. Room service trays with left over food was left in the hallways for over 24 hours! Probably would have been there if I hadn’t complained. Maintenance was terrible! Toilet needed repaired. Flapper valve would not seal. Maintenance personnel attempted a fix and failed. Every time I flushed, I had to remove the tank lid and manually seat the valve so the water would quit running and the tank would fill for the next flush. The breakfast buffet was at best a good attempt at a complimentary buffet at a lesser hotels. They charged $26 dollars! Other than a wonderful staff in the restaurant, I went across the street to another hotel and had breakfast there for the next two mornings. Elevator problems in an 8 story facility. On a good day, one of the two elevators was functional. They actually had a sign explaining that they knew they had a problem and directed us to the stairs. Are you kidding me! I will never stay in another Hilton property especially at that price.
