Creekside Cabin - Walk to Downtown

Enjoy downtown Clayton and all that the area has to offer. Hiking and waterfall trails, whitewater rafting, multiple state parks, lakes and rivers for kayaking and fishing!

Our cozy (820sq ft) 1950s cabin was completely renovated with a very modern feel while keeping the vintage charm. Two bedrooms with cozy queen beds and a spacious kitchen and modern living room. Creekside with a view of Black Rock Mountain State Park and right off the sidewalk/street that leads to downtown which is less that 1/10th of a mile.

When sitting on the back porch or the creekside patio, you would think that you are in the middle of the forest but you are feet from the road into town and less than a half mile walk from downtown with not another house in sight. It is so beautiful to watch the sunset over the mountain and relax in the hot tub after you walk home from getting dinner in one of the many amazing restaurants in Historic Downtown Clayton.

The Cabin is right on the road/sidewalk to downtown that passes mere feet from our front porch. It is very secluded from the back but in the front of the house is just feet from the street, so keep this in mind when you bring kids. Walk to town for dinner, brewery or shopping with a short drive nearly everywhere else for outdoor adventures!

I would love to provide you with recommendations for things to do and adventures to enjoy.

KIDS - Please keep in mind that the cabin is very close to the street. It is a smaller cut through with not a lot of traffic and I am very specific about the location but still have had a few messages from parents expressing their concern after arrival. It is in a bunch of the pictures so please look before booking. Also include your kids in the total number of guests which is 4 MAX.

PETS - We do not allow any pets.

PARTIES - NONE - This is a place to relax not to get turnt. Drink beer or have a cocktail by the fire, enjoy your time, lounge.

You will have access to the entire house and I am available around the clock. If you need anything, we are just a phone call or text away. We want to make sure you have the best stay imaginable and have the chance to fall in love with the area like we have!

The cabin is a full time rental so we do not live on the property. We live less than 1 hr so if there is anything you need, please let me know.

You are a very short 5 minute walk via sidewalk to downtown Clayton. This is the home that we lived in full time for years. It is quiet and quaint and we think you will love it as much as we did!

You can park at our house and walk downtown to all of the restaurants and shops. There is no public transportation or Uber in Clayton so it is convenient and safe to be able to walk home after dinner and drinks.

Our house rules are strictly enforced. Our place is not setup for parties or large groups. The max occupancy is 4 guests. If the house rules are broken, you will be asked to leave.
MAX 4 GUESTS (this includes kids)
NO PETS
NO PARTIES - This is a home for relaxing not raging. Seriously.

  • Air-conditioned home with kitchen, washing machine and balcony

Best Girls Weekend!
We had a great time at the cabin! Enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning. Enjoyed wine in the hot tub in the afternoon's. Fire pit by the creek was so nice, be careful that last step when rainy is slick ;) The beds were sooo comfortable. Quality linens were a luxury, wish we had just a few more towels but made do. Heather checked in on us when we arrived, to see if we needed anything, such a nice gesture! The hot tub was such a treat, it was agreed with the girls we picked the best cabin in Clayton!

Magical Cabin!
If you’re thinking too good to be true, you’re only 1/2 right - this place is great and is true! Just as advertised - on side road that leads to town (650 steps to Currahee Brewing) and about 500 more steps to Main Street of town with all the shops and restaurants. Plenty of great hiking nearby - Black Rock state park & Foxfire 10 minutes away plus other trails in War Woman area. About 15 minutes to Tallulah Gorge and must-visit Tallulah 1882 cafe. We loved relaxing on the front porch when it rained, and enjoyed evenings by the fire pit after a hot tub dip. The kitchen is well equipped and home very clean. Will absolutely be back!

The property was very well kept. Very clean. Decorated nicely. The only downside was no coffee maker. But luckily there are many places to get a coffee early in the am nearby

Perfect getaway soot
The property was as described and the owner was very responsive. The cabin was so cute and relaxing on the creek. Loved sitting on the deck listening to the sound of water and soaking in the hot tub. It is within easy walking distance to the local brewery and downtown restaurants and shops. We would definitely stay again!

Wonderful weekend at Creekside Cabin
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a delightful weekend at Creekside Cabin. Even though you are a short walk from downtown Clayton the cabin sits by itself on a quiet street. We enjoyed morning coffee listening to the sounds of the stream. At night we sat by the fire pit and again enjoyed hearing the creek tumbling over the rocks. The only time we drove anywhere was to Tiger Vineyards and that was 5 minutes away. We walked everywhere else because it was so close. The cabin is comfortable is well stocked with all the essentials. The owner is very helpful and great to work with as well. We can't wait to go back!

Cozy Cabin on the River
Cabin is walking distance to charming downtown, yet nestled off by itself in a nest of wooded area by a stream. Hot tub on the deck was pretty big and clean. Jets were awesome on it! There are strings of Edison type bulbs everywhere outside, so it is well lit. Chairs and fire pit are down by the river as well a hammock. Kitchen was well stocked and beds comfy. Host thought of everything for our stay!

Incredible little getaway
Heather was a very nice and communicative host. 3 people slept comfortably in a quaint and thoughtful cabin. there were so many nice touches to the design and experience. You are right off the main road which we thought would be loud or in the way, but barely any cars passed and it was honestly the best case scenario because we felt safe while still feeling like a getaway. Close walk to downtown - pass on dinner at Fortify for a local bbq joint. We’ll be back!!

Beautiful modern cabin for a getaway
My partner and I had a delightful time in this cabin! It is, as mentioned on the listing, walking distance to downtown Clayton and is very close to a road, but the road is not particularly well travelled and the rear of the cabin still feels secluded and private. The porch space over the creek is a perfect place to relax; it's about as close to feeling like you are in the woods as you can get while still being so close to the amenities in town. (The thoughtful arrangement of fairylights make evenings spent on the porch truly enchanting!) Everything was clean and prepared for our arrival with some nice little touches. The interior is decorated tastefully and with a modernist sensibility, well-suited for a cabin in this particular style. The size is ideal for a couple or a small family, and the layout is both cozy and convenient. Everything worked well, from the kitchen appliances to the hot tub, which was clean and heated for our arrival. Checking in and out was the easiest experience I have had with a VRBO property as well! The owner is both friendly and communicative. Nothing went wrong during our stay, but I am confident that if we had any issues she would have taken care of it quickly. I highly recommend this property if you're looking for a place close to town that feels secluded and has everything you could want in a getaway cabin. I will certainly be looking to return should I ever wish to stay close to Clayton!

Perfect Quiet Getaway
Creekside Cabin was the perfect place for my husband and I to get away for a couple of days before the start of the hectic academic year. The inside and outside of the cabin where as cute and cozy as they could be! Heather is a great communicator! We really appreciated that she and her crew were able to accommodate an early check-in and provided coffee (one less thing to buy for a two-night stay!). I would 100% recommend.

Perfect cabin for those who want modern comfort
Heather's cabin was absolutely adorable! We wanted to feel like we were cabin camping but with modern, updated amenities; and this was perfect. The host was very communicative and accomodating for our small child. The home was well-stocked with quality products (rare in my experience) and very clean - VERY clean! I have never seen a cleaner hot tub! It is also one of the only places in the area that allows a single-night rental, which we needed but we would have loved to have stayed longer. It was also conveniently located only a minute or 2 to downtown Clayton, but it felt secluded. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this place!

Relaxing in the GA Mountains
Our group (2 couples) had attended a Saturday wedding in Gainesville, GA. We were looking for a relaxing place to stay for a night, that was on our way home to NC. Clayton, GA and the cottage fit the bill perfectly. The cottage is exactly as advertised. Walking distance from Main Street and it's shops/restaurants/breweries was fantastic. We had an early dinner and sat around the fire pit for the rest of the evening. Absolutely Perfect! The owners, made the process easy and were very attentive to any needs, but we didn't need a thing. It was already there. We will definitely stay there again, if we return to Clayton.

Great Place for Couples
This cabin had everything needed to enjoy the mountains. It is as described in the photos and has a nice feel to it. There is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy with lighting that makes nights even more enjoyable. A variety of hikes are a short drive away. When the hiking is done, shopping and dinning are less than a mile from the cabin. We really enjoyed both the cabin and close proximity to town. We would stay here again.
