Clayton is a great place to visit if you are an outdoor enthusiast. It is close to three state parks: Tallulah Gorge, Black Rock Mountain State Park, and Moccasin Creek. Lake Burton offers various fishing opportunities and water sports. There are quite a number of hiking areas, many of which lead to waterfalls, such as Angel Falls and Panther Falls, Hemlock Falls, Minnehaha Falls, Dicks Creek Falls, and Bartram Trail. Shady Creek Expeditions offers guided outdoor adventures in the Northeast Georgia Mountains. Visit the guide and outfitters shop at 56 N Main Street. There are also several local golf courses including Kingwood Resort and Winery and Rabun County Golf Club.
