Great place. Brought back memories when it was the Renaissance hotel back in the days. Pool is extremely small but it’s downtown Lorain in the summer your right next to the concerts Rocking on the river !

When we arrived at the hotel, the property was experiencing a complete blackout. Yet, Mike at the front desk helped to get us checked in and escorted us personally to our room. He was very welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable and despite the blackout, we had a very pleasant stay.

Started off by putting us in a room that was NOT cleaned, I’m talking nasty old food in the fridge, garbage piling over, hairy used towels, then they “upgraded” us to their most expensive suite that was just a pull down kings sized bed with dead bugs on the floor and no TV lol. No discount, compensation etc.

The staff were friend and accommodating. The elevator (both) smelled musty. When you enter the lobby, carpet smells musty. Pool can be cleaner (a lot of floating hair on the water. Room was big, beds were comfortable.

Loud alarms started at 5AM and even with complaints, the staff couldn’t help turn them off until 6:30AM. Beds were too soft and view from my room was to another wall in the same hotel.

The unclean and unkept room. The walls and toilet area was dirty. Spider webs on windows. When I booked, breakfast was included, but it was changed to $10 per person when I got there. Certain advertised facilities were closed and a couple of the staff at the front desk were unfriendly and unhelpful. I paid a very high price for my 5 day stay. I stayed here last year and the services were good, but not this time and I will not be returning. And btw, I never give reviews.
