The internet didn’t work. The air conditioner didn’t work well. It functioned more like a fan. The room also smelled like a room someone chain smoked in and then poured flower-scented cleaner in to try to cover it. The towels were dirty.
My daughter and I checked in and was literally in the room for 10 minutes, after observing the conditions of the room “hair everywhere in the bed, on the bathroom floor, in the shower, toilet, and refrigerator, the microwave was dirty left over bottle in the refrigerator. We immediately went back down to check out.
We chose this property because it had two queen beds and not double bed. The room was supposed to be a nonsmoking room but smelled of smoke. There were holes in the wall in the bathroom. Wi-Fi was okay. The room had a connecting door that wasn’t insulated for noise so we heard all the noise from the other room. They had a dog and between the loud talking and laughing and the dog at 4 am our sleep was disrupted. The beds were okay. I’d try to find some where else to stay if I’m ever back in Cleveland.
We never had an opportunity to stay at the Skylight Inn. They never let Expedia know there was a massive storm causing a power outage — so Expedia took our booking. When we arrived at the hotel there was a tie on the front doors telling us “Closed — No Power” along with two phone numbers to call. We were not the only people scratching their heads and wondering what to do next.
None of the hotels in that area had power.
I disputed the credit card charge with my credit card company.
Just a very unfortunate experience.
I’m sure the Skylight Inn is an okay place to stay. They just handled the situation poorly.

I arrived to check in only to find the hotel was closed due to power outage. There was a hand printed sign with a phone number but of course I only reached voicemail. I had made the reservation about an hour before, and felt the hotel should have removed their availability from the website.

The pictures make it look updated or newish, and it isn’t. My room was dirty and immediately brought it to their attention. They moved me to a much better room. I honestly don’t feel it’s worth the price I paid.

As what looks like an old converted Motel6, room was clean and bed was clean and comfortable. Staff was is very friendly.
The place was disgusting. I was afraid to sleep here. We found chicken bones in the base of the bed. Coffee or something splashed on the walls. It reeked of cigarettes. Our door didn’t look to safe…looked like someone kicked it in. We had 4 guests staying in the room with 1 towel set. I was told I had to bring the dirty one back in order to get a clean one!! Finally gave 1 more set so at least 2 of us had towels to use right away. They definitely weren’t worth stealing. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone else
