Convenient stay
This stay was easy to book and convenient while visiting family staying in their camper. I wish there were linens provided though. There was not even a dish drying towel.

Positive experience
The cottage was super cute inside and out, and it was clean and nice on the inside. It had everything the two of us (and my little dog) needed for the weekend. Even though we arrived at night, check-in was easy. When we got there, there was live music at the main building nearby. The place had a relaxed, chill vibe. The place definitely had a family-friendly, camping feel with all the neighbors, golf carts, and dog-walkers around. I loved the scenic views of the Sound that were all around. Very relaxing place to stay. One downside for us was we didn't realize the location is not convenient to get to fast food or other quick food options when arriving at 9:00 pm. Now that we know, we would be able to plan for that in the future. Also, the mosquitos are insane! So bug spray is a must when outside the cottage. We also got a lot of bugs (midges) inside the cottage while unloading our bags at night. The bugs and the distance from food/stores were the only two downsides, and those were minor thing we can plan for next time. Overall, I loved the cottage and the surroundings. Would recommend!

Family Vacation
We enjoyed our stay at KOA Outer Banks West. We took the water shuttle on it’s 2nd day of voyage and we all loved it! We bought a crab trap from the camp store and the kids enjoyed catching a few blue crabs. If we come down again we will probably end up staying closer to Kitty Hawk or Nag’s Head.

Perfect vacation spot!
This cabin was perfect! Had most of the basic necessities you need, you have to bring sheets, blankets, pillow cases, towels. They do provide some basic pillows, trash bags and some dish soap/sponge in kitchen as well as basics in the kitchen for cooking. Remember to bring hand soap for bathroom and grill utensils for grilling outside. Your not guaranteed a pink cabin as in the photo but that doesn’t really matter much, also the porch is not screened in but some citronella kept the mosquitoes at bay during the evening. Already booked for next year and can’t wait to return!

End of the Summer Family Getaway
We used this as an opportunity for a family getaway before the summer ended. We had a great time and enjoyed everything that was offered. The only downside was that there was not a screened-in porch as shown in the picture. We love to sit outside and enjoy the scenery without interruptions from bugs/mosquitos. We got eaten up by the mosquitos at night so the screened-in porch would have been a great benefit to making our experience that much better. I still would recommend this vacation spot and we plan on booking in the future.

Cabin Rental
Our family enjoyed the stay. The rental had everything in the kitchen we needed to cook as far as dishes/pots/etc. The store at the camp had a great variety of essentials. Enjoyed having the golf cart rental as entertainment and to get around faster. Neighbors are close but the camp was quite and relaxing. Enjoyed that my dog could come and seen lots of other dogs there. Recommend improvements and other thoughts: 1-Can only do fun activities with the extra provided amenities when store is open for rental and return. It closed at 6 pm each day of our stay which was early. My teens sleep in and then it was to hot to enjoy putt putt and other outdoor activities. When it started cooling off the store was closing which meant you could not use fishing, paddle boards, putt putt or anything because they had to checked back in before closing. 2-Rental cabin does provide pillows but you need to remember to bring pillow cases along with the other linens. Bedrooms were small but sufficient as expected. 3-One recommended addition to the kitchen is an air fryer which would have been great. 4-Coffee pot provided but need to bring on coffee items, filter papers, coffee, stirrers, creamer, etc. May also want to bring your favorite cup as the ones provided are kinda small.

Spectacular!
We loved how quiet and clean the campground was. We enjoyed the personal grill beside our home. We loved the sunset and sunrise views each day. We were told and we forgot about linens (not provided), we went to Kitty Hawk Marshalls grabbed a set. Overall, I could not be more happier. We will be back!

Family Friendly Location, Not Great for Dogs
The campground was well kept and extremely clean which was much appreciated. Lots of kid/family friendly activities which are included in the price of the stay which is a nice perk. I do wish that the listing was a little more clear about how close you will be to your neighbors. Your porch, which is NOT screened in, butts up within a few feet of your neighbors fire pit/grill area. Very little privacy. Yes, dogs can stay in this cabin, however, if your dogs are anything like our dogs, they will bark at the many patrons who are walking to the camp store/playground/community area. The open field is heavily traveled by people/kids/dogs which can feel a little intrusive as the quickest way to the destination is a straight line a few yards from your porch. I would not book this particular site again for this reason. If you are looking for a quite camping experience this site is not the one for you. I will say that many of the other waterfront cabins would suite our needs and wants much better and are interested in booking those locations in the future. The cabin itself is as described. The lack of the screened in porch was a bummer as the bugs were terrible outside and rushed inside when the door was opened. Overall, this cabin would be great for a family with kids who can enjoy being so close to the action. If you are looking for a quieter camping experience I would recommend checking out the waterfront options
