We stayed here for a convention, and it was absolutely miserable. I've been to the gaylord many times and i've never had an experience as bad as this one. For starters the fees were absolutely outrageous for a hotel that is truly on its last limb now. The convention section of the gaylord is completely falling apart. There was a main pipe leakage, bathroom stalls that were falling apart, parts of the hotel that smelled like sewage and room service that was incredibly poor.! To be charged over two grand for a weekend for some of the poorest conditions i've ever seen is just beyond absurd! The worst part is even though we paid in full. The hotel tried to charge us another 1500. At this point I don't think I'd ever wanna return here. My wife as a high level rewards member and although we were going to book to the hotel itself , the staff told us to look at a third party because it was cheaper. Not only were they wrong, but now we no longer get points and got double charged even though the manager on site told us that he would still give us points!! If you order something from them half the time, they will completely forget about you order. It took, a whole day just to get wash cloths. The only thing that made this trip enjoyable was the housekeepers and the staff in the restaurant on the second level! (Old hikory)

There was no notice that there was a convention going on with an extra 50,000 people and the hotel did not plan accordingly or have any alternative for basic necessities for guest. Waited 20-30 Minutes for elevators just to find a line that took over an hour for coffee and a bagel. No restaurants except the “market” where all food is prepared and under warmers. When I tried to call for room service I was informed that it was simply the food from the market brought up to my room. Nothing fresh!!! Over priced food for poor quality “fast food” quality food. I am sure the hotel would be great if there was not 50,000 extra people who were using all the amenities, elevators and restaurants but the idea that I paid close to $900 a night for a premium hotel it was far from premium service

I happened to book my birthday weekend stay the same weekend as a cheerleading competition. This was NOT relaxing and I stayed next to very loud and inconsiderate cheerleaders who were practicing well into the night. I’m highly disappointed and wish the hotel had a block of rooms or areas specifically for the cheerleaders so those of us who were regular guests didn’t have to be subjected to the noise all night. My room was nice, but this noisiness really put a damper on my stay. It’s unfortunate.

Great! But bring a humidifier.
I've stayed at the Gaylord a number of times over the last 10 years. Service has always been excellent, staff always ready to help. This time around I needed room service more than ever, it was super fast and the staff was very patient with repeat calls. If I had to advise anyone anything, if you have sensitive breathing issues: Bring a humidifier. Particularly, if you intend on staying for more than a couple days. Maybe its because I've gotten older, but the rooms are very very dry. *This may just be a personal issue, the state of the room was perfect otherwise!
