One of the most notable points of interest in the area is Pikes Peak. The drive to the entrance gate of Pikes Peak Park is approximately 15 min. The drive to the top of the mountain can take as long or short as you want depending on how much time you want to spend taking in the views of the great Rocky Mountains on one side and the Great Plains on the other. For real adventurers you can hike up Barr Trail (13 miles) to the top of Pikes Peak. The base of Barr Trail is also located in Manitou Springs next to the old Cog railway station. Reservations are required for driving up Pikes Peak or riding the cog railway.
