Staff were very noisy in the morning. I could hear them banging cupboard doors and talking at 7.30, they actually woke me up. When I was checking in, our room wasn’t ready and the receptionist said she would call me when it was ready. Never received a call which was really annoying as when I returned, they said my room was ready

Loved the location for easy access to walkway, bowls & RSL Club. Cooktown was an amazing place to visit with so much history. The Sovereign was a real treat to stay at, the amenities were great, clean and tidy-worth the money to stay.

The two bedroom apartment was very spacious and clean. The pool was well presented and very refreshing. The restaurant looked lovely and if we had stayed longer we would have dined there.

Fabulous pool and gardents
The grounds and public areas of this hotel are beautiful and very well maintained. Our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment was clean and well equipped but unfortunately was on the ground floor with only a small strip of sky visible from the lounge and main bedroom. The second bedroom was a bit like sleeping in a cave. I would recommend requesting a room with a view of the pool (or the street). Disappointing that bathroom amenities were not eco friendly - hopefully that will change in the near future.
