Mostly Good - but third party web site insurance requirement frustrating
It was a middle of the road stay for us. Check in process was the worst part of the experience. Host requires a third party web-site to purchase insurance before providing check in info like the door code. For me that was an unpleasant surprise that I did not see clearly spelled out in the advertisement. I asked to work everything through VRBO directly (told him I wasn't comfortable with a third party site) and host wouldn't budge (citing the "rules", which I found ironic given the VRBO commercial making fun of a competitor service's rules bound host). I spent the better part of a day in the car trying to make the third party site work, Jeff asked me to try different browsers and different phones, which I did, but the site never worked right. Eventually Jeff gave us the check in details, but it was super frustrating.Trying not to let that totally negatively affect our experience, I would say most other things about the property were average or above average. Neighborhood was quiet, house was in OK shape but could use a little TLC. For example, chipped paint in places and couches had a lot of stains. It did have most things we could want to make it live-able as a real house (vs a big hotel room). Back yard was great for our pup, lots of room room to roam. Jeff was reasonably responsive when we sent messages.Would I stay there again? I'd look for something else first, but if nothing else was available at comparable location / price I would choose this home.
