Le Meridien is always a nice hotel, and the location in Downtown Denver was no exception. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, and most everything in town is within a 20-minute walk. I would definitely stay here on my next visit to Denver.

Our AC went out at 2:30am the first night. I had an early meeting in the morning and the front desk staff instead of just taking action to handle the situation immediately said it was not his fault…which no one blamed him for the mechanical failure. When I asked what he was going to do about the situation he offered me a cup of coffee?! I was bewildered. Thankfully the manager came out and switched my room and kindly gave me a dining credit, but my sleep was already nonexistent for the events of the evening that had already transpired. The blackout curtains couldn’t block out the strobing red and blue lights for hours not one, but both nights of my stay!! Probably the most violent scenes I’ve ever witnessed live…and it happened 2 nights in a row outside my hotel window!! This was not the hotel’s fault but horrifying nonetheless. Night 1 was a high speed chase ending on the hotel street corner with cops and their guns drawn on the suspect. Night 2 witnessed a 40 person brawl (where men were literally punching and kicking not just other men but women in the face) breakout minutes after returning to my room. The last day our waitress Jamie in Corinne was delightful, the food was delicious, however I don’t wish to return to Denver any time soon. The hotel decor was beautiful and the rooms were clean and comfy, but definitely not in a safe area. I would not recommend a family with kids to stay here & though it might be the best view in the city the rooftop draws a sketchy crowd.

Small rooms, odd design, poor lighting
The room was small for the price with a full length mirror that had a bed in front of it, so unusable as full length and while there was a lighted bathroom mirror, there was also a harsh overhead light in front of it. Poor design for a hotel next to a convention center.
