The room was beautiful and comfortable, the food was excellent - I have never had such a hard choice of many dishes, and the beers and beer choice were terrific. The roast beef may have been a bit expensive but you will rarely have tasted beef like it. Taking into account the quality of the full breakfast, it was one of the most reasonably priced I can remember. There was one problem; we were there during the height of summer so noise through the open window from the patio below us until past closing time was inevitable, but this is one of the prices to pay for staying in a fantastic pub when we did.

Newly refurbished pub in the centre of the village

We were taken through the buzzy bar up some stairs behind the bar to a wonderfully comfortable and cosy room. It all looked spotlessly clean and fresh. It was a perfect place to stay and excellent value. We had supper downstairs - what a pleasure to just have to climb the stairs to bed - which was good. There's an on-site microbrewery, really good beer. Would definitely recommend this pub both for food and for staying.

Clean hotel, friendly staff

Pros: It was very clean
Such a shame that the rooms have no soundproof we were right above the bar and could hear every ones conversation , not good when you need a good nights sleep
