I found my stay at the Hyatt Place hotel in downtown Des Moines to be a good experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast good, and the accommodation nice. The hotel is a little worn for wear, but it was very clean and a great value for the price while I was attending a conference in the city. Overall, I would choose this location again should I need to travel to Des Moines in the future.

I loved everything except the humming sound coming from outside my window. When I looked out there I saw the whole heating/air-conditioning unit on top of the roof below and the fan were making a loud humming noise and it made it hard for me to fall asleep with that sound.

Visited Des Moines with a group of 6 couples. Each couple had issues with the shower in their room. Either very low water pressure and/or some with no hot water. I know it’s a downtown building - but Hyatt may have to invest to ensure this isn’t an issue as it’s one of the most important aspects of a stay.

Front desk staff is amazing. Large free breakfast in the morning with tons of selections. Room was ok size. Only complaint was rack in shower had a bunch of rust and needs replacing.
