Sandpiper Cove is a 43-acre gated resort located on exclusive Holiday Isle in Destin, Florida, which is a peninsula surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and Destin Harbor. This expansive resort offers amazing amenities including private beach access, five swimming pools, three hot tubs, six lighted tennis courts, horse shoes, plus a 9-hole par 3 golf course. Additionally, the resort includes a beach pavilion that serves food and beverages, BBQ grills onsite, and Louisiana Lagniappe restaurant.

If you haven't been to Holiday Isle, you're in for a treat. It's a serene, little oasis in the middle of Destin, with 2 and a half miles of paved trails for walking and biking, surrounded by quiet neighborhoods perfect for exploring on a bike. It's just minutes away from restaurants, shopping, boat docks, fishing, golf, and amusements.

Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also, for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest!  Destin Commons also has a mini-train for the kids. Destin Commons features over 75 shops and restaurants, including Godiva Chocolates, AMC Movie Theaters and Bass Pro Shop.

Love Destin. Real Joy not so much
Unit was average and needed updating. Real Joy sold the unit during our stay and instead of not providing possession until after our check out, removed us with two days remaining. While they reimbursed us for the two days we had to leave early, it was a total disruption to an otherwise pleasant vacation. Very disappointing for us and will certainly never use a Real Joy property again. Not the fault of VRBO

Company was easy to communicate with. Checking in and out was smooth and easy. They allowed an early check in once unit was ready. Some areas of the unit weren’t as clean as we expected but overall the stay was great.

Very Pleasant.
This location is perfect, it’s close to the beach and everything else. Shops, food, & TARGET! Only thing I recommend is packing a blanket for the pull out bed because one was not provided. Also limited bath linens so pack wash cloths. They provide a washer and dryer which is perfect for a weeks stay.

Unit in need of a face lift
Guards who checked us in at main gate were rude. A map of the grounds would have been nice. Unit smelled musty and damp, and is obviously an older unit. Stains on bottom of shower curtains and furniture in living room could use a cleaning. All AC vents were covered in dust and overall the unit wasnt the cleanest. Extra bed pillows were old, patio furniture was rusty... Definitely wouldn't stay here again. Unit in dire need of a remodel. Not sure what the cleaning fee goes too in all honesty...the glade plug ins are just masking the musty damp smell.

Decent Place
the "resort" area this is in, while a bit older, is still pretty nice, with several amenities. Holiday Isle, as it is called on here, was nice. It served our purposes, but not much more than that. We had a number of small issues with the Condo that we felt shouldn't be present. We communicated this to the Property Manager. To their credit, we heard back within a few hours of sending the email. They were willing to come work on the issues they could immediately solve while we were still there. Assuming the RealJoy team resolved the array of small issues, this is a nice place to stay, and worth the price with its closeness to the beach.

Never again will I use this property management company or stay in that awful condo again. I have MS and they put me on the second floor so I wasn’t able to leave. The property management has zero response. Terrible experience.

Nice condo. Good for couples
The condo was as pictured in the listing. A little on the small side but it was perfect for my husband and myself with 2 small dogs. The balcony view was beautiful. It’s shared with the 2 other condos to the left but there is a gate between each condo separating them. Some of the rail posts on the balcony were loose so we didn’t let the dogs on the balcony in case they were to fall off. If your bringing small dogs or children, I would be cautious of that. The bed was very comfy. The pull out couch/bed wasn’t as comfy. The A/C cools very well but doesn’t seem to cool the bedroom off as well as the rest of the condo. The washer and dryer was also convenient so we didn’t have to keep paying to use the public one downstairs. The community was very nice and everyone was friendly. Overall we would definitely stay here again and look forward to coming back!

Small but works!
Small but worked for my family of 4. I’m happy they aloud dogs but I wouldn’t take a large dog there. It was two small for my large pet, I wish I wouldn’t have brought my dog. The place was quite and clean we enjoyed our stay.

Not horrible but a little disappointed
I hate to leave any kind of negative review. But when you pay $1500+ for a 4 night stay you expect to get what you pay for. The complex we were in was nice and the people there were friendly. The walk to the beach is not bad if you have a wagon to carry your belongings and the pools were nice. There were a lot of dishes and cookware to use, all that was nice and clean. However, when my husband and I went to get ready for bed the first night we noticed stains all over the comforter along with a TON of pet hair covering the comforter, the sheets, and even the mattress pad. It was a little confusing who to contact so I had to call the emergency number. There is no one on site to accommodate for fresh linens. So we had to wait an hour for someone to arrive with new bedding. They were kind and brought us brand new bedding so that was helpful. On the day of check out that was scheduled for 10 am…housekeeping showed up at 9am. It was not their fault that they couldn’t communicate with me but neither of the ladies were able to understand or speak English so it was difficult to make them understand we still had an hour to pack up and leave. Therefore, we were very rushed to get out.

Great stay
We had a great rental experience with this unit. Location was a bit further than expected from the beach but found consistent parking in the lot outside of Sand Trap. View from balcony is very pretty and unit was quiet.

Almost Perfect
Our stay was great, clean condo, quiet and safe area. Love that we didn’t have to keep up with a key. Our only draw back was that we paid for beach services but nine was provided. The manager was not informative or knowledgeable about what to do.
