It was walkable to ford field and we felt safe walking after the event at 11pm. Denise welcomed us and was very informative and showed us exactly where we needed to go.

This property was excellently located for convenience to Ford Field, Ceasars Palace, and Comerica Park if that is where you want to go. It is within walking distance of all. The place in general was really neat. The only complaints about the place was the beds could use some new mattresses, and a continental breakfast instead of breakfast I am use to at bed and breakfasts having great full breakfasts. The only other complaint is the parking was good, but the parking lot of the 97 Winder was used for paid parking for the games at Ceasars. This created a problem for those staying at 97 Winder as it was hard to get the parking attendents to understand we were guests and to save us a parking place when we went in and out. The hosts were all friendly. Overall, if I went again for games, I would stay again.

Bait and switch or bold face lies?
I will say this, compared to the “three hots and a cot” most people in Detroit are probably used to this place may seem like an upgrade. Upon entering our room we were greeted with a double bed not a queen; hair on the bed- like A HAIR strands of hair. A rug that was dirty and had not been washed in ages, hair in the shower drain, hair clippings in the sink, as well as tile falling off the tub surround. We were told the property was sold out and we could not change rooms. We were also told that several of the issues we brought up- the cleanliness and the shower issues would be resolved when we returned from Dinner. And of course THEY WERE NOT FIXED. They claimed they did; maybe they cleaned the wrong room? They had so many vacancies I can understand how they would've made the mistake with it being so empty. The parking lot had 3 total Vehicles so the property was not sold out. We were repeatedly told this is a queen bed despite putting a measuring tape on it and illustrating the measurements matched what Google said a double bed size was; and several Amazon links for double mattresses. I am 5’10 255 she is 6’1 170 so a double isn’t working. After realizing we would not be accommodating we left shortly after midnight and found other accommodations

A Gem
This is a fun experience for couples or solo travelers. The rooms in this 19th-century home are cozy and comfortable. Guests have access to common living spaces and a kitchen. After exploring Detroit each day, reading and sipping tea in the front room, complete with period furniture, was very relaxing. It's a short walk to downtown and the various sports complexes. The staff were friendly and helpful. One minor quibble: They don't answer email or "contact us" forms on their website. If you have a question, you have to call.

This was our third time staying here, and it was not as good this time. There was no shampoo, there were no drinking glasses in the room to take our pills with, and there were lightbulbs that needed replaced. The room that we were in is always cold and there wasn’t a blanket to put on the bed. This is one of our favorite places to stay and I hope they fix these things. It’s a gorgeous house.

Poorly ran
Charged me for two rooms when my reservation AND receipt say one room. Told me I had to cancel the room with 72 hours…. Explain to me how I can cancel a reservation I didn’t even know I had? The house itself is beautiful, but the staff is so uninformed and rude.

was not the best place to stay. Especially for the price. The only really good thing was location. But room was kind of dirty, shower missing tiles, and the walls are SUPER thin so you hear everyone/ everything. And whatever you do, DO NOT lose your room key. Its hundreds of dollars to replace. Also, you have to pay $25 just to park in the lot connected to it. If not, your on the street.

Stayed here for a concert, maybe a block away from the little Caesars arena. Easily walkable to bars and other attractions. Staff was very nice, downstairs was pretty, got to the room and the chaise in the bathroom was shredded, slept that night and woke up to pieces of black plastic bits coming from inside the comforter. The room while decorated nicely was extremely basic for price.

We arrived at 3:54, check in was at 4. Staff was kind of rude when we walked in. I said we can wait 6 minutes if it was easier. She commented it’s 7 minutes…but I didn’t realize it was that close to 4 and checked us in. Stay was super close to Little Caesars Arena. Breakfast was continental, but good. Staff were friendly besides our first interaction.
