Very beautiful old hotel. Vintage furnishing all over, truly a stunning place. The lady at the front desk at night was very kind. The valet workers were very nice and efficient. The gentleman behind the bar at the ashbar was awesome. I even met his ne of the maintenance guys who was super friendly and a few housekeepers who were very nice. I would say the only thing it was lacking was a coffee maker in the room, that would have been nice! And it is fairly noisy but you can expect that as it is downtown. Overall we loved it, and if we ever go back to Detroit, this is where we will be staying! Thank you all!

The property was very much themed like a brothel. It is very cool in that aspect, but when you book for a hotel and get a tiny room and no where to move. The thermostat was pre set, no matter how high/low you adjust. The bed was extremely low to the ground but ok. I paid over $300 and was maybe worth $120 at best a night for what you get. Very much for a younger crowd I would say.

Love this beautiful place.
Gorgeous building, lots of character and charm. Love our stay. Only bad thing was the Valet company was very inefficient, slow, and in the way when walking in the building.

Poor use of limited space
We expected the studio room to be small but we felt the configuration of the room is poor. The large screen tv is nice but was so close to the bed it was difficult to watch. Moving it to the other wall and having somewhere to sit would be great. The bench and cushion by the window is a poor use of this small room. A couple small chairs and a suitcase holder would be nice better. Also, a coffee maker in the room would also be nice instead of paying quite a bit at the coffee cafe. Very cool old hotel and staff was good. Valet parking at $ 42/ night seemed a little much. Parking nearby in lots for $ 20/ day is better but limited in/ out. Can’t win down there with parking.

Great location, cute style, good luck sleeping
Very cool and unique looking hotel and room. Amazing location and views throughout the whole room! Everything was very clean. Bed was fairly comfortable, down pillows which are not everyone’s cup of tea as they get very flat and have no support. The room was VERY noisy, lots of exterior noise and clanks and bangs in the building. You could hear people taking from the outside and I was on the 12th floor. Loud music, sirens, cars, the people mover etc you could hear every bit of it. Didn’t get quiet until about 2:30 am.

Cute but cold
Lovely hotel- but very cold. With high ceilings and old windows, the heat couldn’t keep up and never got above 65 in the room, regardless of thermostat settings. Otherwise very nice, but this really limited my enjoyment of the room. Would have told the desk clerk about it but he didn’t ask how my stay was when I checked out.

Having never stayed in downtown Detroit we were happy with our room and the ambiance of the hotel until we climbed into bed, where we found a pair of women’s socks in between the sheets at the foot of the bed. The room appeared to have been cleaned when we arrived, and there was even a nice welcome note on the bed.
