Lake MI Vacation
The house is older and due for updating. However, all the appliances are in good working order and the kitchen/dining area is very spacious. Nice quiet area with trees. We enjoyed seeing deer in the yard. Walkable to Douglas Beach and a short drive to Oval Beach.

Great location but terrible management
I’ll start by saying the location is great! That’s about the only great experience of this place! The home is a little run down and has a few broken things inside! Shower drain was clogged with hair! Ceiling in the kitchen has what looks like water damage and mold and it’s flaking off! Checked in and the house was 80 degrees, figured maybe they just turned the air on before check in so we gave it an hour to start cooling down! Instead it went up to 82 degrees! I called Vacasa and told them the issue and they said they would get ahold of the local manager and have the air resolved! ** after reading the latest review it’s apparent that the AIR WASNT WORKING FOR THE PREVIOUS GUEST AND THEY NEVER FIXED IT! Called Vacasa help line numerous times throughout the evening and it was the same routine, they would say can I put you on hold while I try to reach the local manager! I’d sit on hold for 15-20 minutes and they would come back on the line and say, “we can’t reach the local manager but a ticket has been created to get the air fixed”! The home got up to 86 degrees! Half the windows wont open! Woke up the next morning and drove to the local vacas office! Knocked on the door and no one answered! There’s a number on the door you can call to reach them so I called and no answer! I proceeded to call atleast 10 times and the manager never once answered or returned my call! Called Vacasa help line again and it was the same routine!

Hot Stay
The house was situated in a nice wooded area - a family of deer were regularly spotted nearby. It was spacious and it was nice to see that the property could support similar number of guests for dining and leisure as well as sleep. The house itself is a bit worn looking, tired 1970's decor, with some inoperable windows & blinds and holes in the screens. BUT this all could have been overlooked if only the A/C was working. Sleeping in hot 80 degree, humid bedrooms was impossible. See note about holes on screens. We did not use the upstairs room - suffocating! Vacasa was notified shortly after checking in of the situation. We asked for fans. No fans came. They offered a discount of 10%, which I have yet to see. And on reflection, too paltry of a sum to make up for the missed sleep. Luckily it was only a 3 night stay. The weather was in the low 80's while we were there - so not during a heat wave.

Thanksgiving Stay
The place was great. A lot of separate bedrooms for each guest to have privacy but lots of common spaces to gather in groups. We were able to all eat at the table together for dinner for 8 people. The place was clean and spacious and the deck and backyard looked great although we didn’t use them due to the weather.

Great Location
Finding properties without a lot of stairs or no stairs is pretty hard. This property met that need and offered everyone their own room. The beds were comfortable and the house is furnished nicely. The location was perfect - woody area and super close to Saugatuck. We enjoyed having hot dogs at the Rootbeer Barrel down the street. We were not able to use the outside deck due to a nasty nest of carpenter bees. They were swarming all over. It looked nice, although in need of a bit of TLC, and we got to see deer feeding in the yard. The house was pretty clean, except for the chairs in the dining room. Not sure when the last time they were given a really good cleaning. We tried sitting in the living room but no one ever buys sofa beds for their comfort so we quickly switched to the kitchen. The linens and towels were all in good shape and nice - not thin and tiny. There are two bathrooms on the main level - one is quite tiny but usable with a bathtub. I would recommend the owners install some grab bars to make it easier to get in an out of the tubs. But then I'm 65 and want to make sure I don't fall. It's not an issue for the younger crowd. The front porch steps could use a coat of paint and possible replacement of a couple of boards, but entry into the house is only three steps. It's a roomy house and the outdoor space would make it great for a group with kids.

Ladies weekend
We stayed here for a ladies weekend and spent one day out wine tasting. The house is in a great location and was close to the wineries in the area. We loved how many beds were there and was surprised by how big the house actually was. Plenty of space for everyone.

Great spot for vacationing!
We loved our trip to this great getaway house. Cute house, lots of space. Kitchen is definitely the main hang out spot. Great yard too. We loved that it was walking distance to Douglas beach although the beach was closed during our stay. The listing also mentions an outdoor fire pit which was not present. And the indoor fireplace was not functional either. Also it appeared the people staying before us didn’t know the no smoking rule, there were several cigarette butts on the back deck. Aside from a few small things it was wonderful!

Great Location!
Beautiful setting, close to lake Michigan, downtown Douglas and downtown Saugatuck! This was our first time to this area and we loved the variety of family friendly things to do! Very quiet and peaceful area. We were astounded by the mature trees and hills everywhere, right off of lake Michigan! So neat!

Just what we needed!
We had a wonderful weekend spent in this home! We enjoyed the deck, the fire pit and large back yard while we were there. It is located in a lovely little neighborhood that was a short drive to Oval Beach and town. The house is laid out a little strangely, but it worked fine for our family. It was our first weekend traveling anywhere since COVID-19 locked us all down and, like the title says, it was just what we needed!!

Generations feels like home .
We have stayed at generations many times but have not stayed there in a few years . Felt good to get back. The deck and kitchen are the great for our family . I think maybe a few new mattresses . It wasn’t as clean as I had hoped considering COVID . I cleaned both bathrooms right away , the door frames in both bathrooms had dirt on them I sprayed cleaner on them and they were clean . The floors may not have been swept , lots of sand on the floor And the couch in The family room . We were overall very happy there . The printed check out info says turn air to 60 I think that couldn’t be right .

Perfect for families
We enjoyed our stay at this home. Ideal for larger groups and families. We cooked on the grill and used the fire pit often. Good amount of space to relax. Unfortunately Douglas beach was closed but we went oval beach often. The oval beach was a short 5 min quick drive. We loved oval beach- not too crowded and water was great. Everything was within driving distance for us, including activities and the shopping. Would recommend if you coming with kids, a great house.

Shovel
No snow shovel made available and with several inches of snow it made it challenging going up down steps. It would be great to have a shoval to clear the sidewalks.
