Anniversary Getaway
The property was good, but there were two things I wished were different. 1) There is no window covering in the bathroom which faces the road through the complex of all of the other rentals. I am a 5’10” woman and this was a huge problem for me!!!! If I was 5’2”, it may have been okay but I felt awkward and exposed. 2) We brought our senior, blind, small dog and the tall weeds freaked him out. It would be nice to have a trimmed area for potty breaks on a dog friendly property. Other than that, we loved our stay and will keep The Driftwoods in mind for future visits to the area!

Such a Peaceful and Beautiful Place
The Driftwoods Green Cabin is on a large lot with other cabins, surrounded by thick forest. It was so quiet and peaceful—no vehicle noise, clean air, and incredibly green! The cabin had a comfy bed and sofa, with a TV, a squeaky clean bathroom and a full kitchen with everything I needed. The decor was the best—rugged Texas. I rented the cabin to give my dogs some time in nature. They absolutely loved our walks through the forest. I am definitely coming back.

The green cabin was nice. It is basically one big room with the kitchen off to the side and the bathroom next to the kitchen. The bed, couch, table, and "closet" are all in the main room. I say "closet" because there is not actually a closet, it is more of an open stand where you can hang your clothes with a couple of shelves. Even though it was extremely hot (over 100 degrees each day) when we stayed, the in-wall A/C unit kept the room fairly cool. It is quite a trek out to the property from any of the cities around but that means it is quiet and peaceful at night. Just know that you have to drive at least 15 minutes or more to get to any nearby city. I do wish the kitchen and bathroom windows and the front door window had curtains. I ended up rigging up towels to cover the windows, but curtains would have been appreciated. Shower was clean and we had plenty of hot water but showerhead was not great. It needs to be cleaned so that the little holes allow better water flow. Communication from the property owner was timely with the door key code and what to expect clearly presented. Overall the stay was nice and I would stay there again!

Super cute cabin. Pictures don't do it justice!
My husband & our two pups spent MLK Jr. Day weekend at The Drift Woods. Check-in was a breeze as the property owners gave us everything we needed way in advance. The cabin was so much cuter than the pictures show. The location is great and we got to both Dripping Springs & Wimberley in what seemed to be no time at all.

Comfortable Cabin
I enjoyed my weekend stay with my husband and our pup in this cute, cozy cabin. The property was in a beautiful, isolated location but still close enough to town to make getting dinner and shopping pretty easy. The cabin was clean and stocked with basic kitchen/bathroom amenities. I didnt cook while we were there, but there is a full sized fridge and stove/oven in the little kitchen, so you could if you wanted to. The bed was comfortable and there were extra blankets, which was nice since it was chilly that weekend. My only real complaint is that there were no curtains on the windows in the kitchen and on the front door. The front door window has a frosted glass pattern on it, but it does not extend to the edges and theres like a 2 inch rim around the perimeter that you can still see through. Since the cabin is all 1 big room and the bed is right in front of the door, this lets in a lot of light from the neighboring cabin and makes it feel a lot less private. We just hung up a towel in front of both of those windows, so it wasn't a big deal. The overhead lights and fan would also randomly turn themselves on repeatedly (not so fun in the middle of the night) but this can be solved by just turning them off at the switch instead of using the remote control (I wonder if remotes in neighboring cabins are on the same frequency and interfere with each other?). But other than those minor things our stay was very enjoyable, and I would definitely stay at The Driftwoods again!

Just okay
The property itself was unique and it was a decent location if you want to be remote (was a good 20 minutes to a gas station). No TVs inside the cabins was a negative for us. The inside of the cabin was dirty, the shower grossed me out. If you can get past that then it’s a cool property if you have a group of people and want separate sleeping arrangements.

Perfect location for our extended weekend getaway. Everything we needed and quiet. There isn’t a television, but we liked that. It’s not fancy, but comfortable. The location was great for us as we planned visits to all our favorite places in a Dripping Springs, Driftwood, Wimberley and Gruene.

I give it a 3.5
The cabin was cute, quiet and the bed was comfy. It’s odd that the cabin doesn’t have a microwave, although there is a common area that has one but the other visitors were always using it when I was needing it so it’s not convenient. The stove top wouldn’t come on so we had to eat out rather than being able to cook. We called the manager and they offered to come out but we didn’t want to have to load all our stuff or wait around for them to come out. The shower head was crystalized so we had to be strategic to get rinsed off. There wasn’t a curtain or blind on the bathroom window or the kitchen window so we had to cover them with towels. The landscaping need to be cleaned up. There were high weeds and grass all around. If these issues were resolved it would be a great place. It’s conveniently located near Wimberly and the river. Over all despite the issues I would give it a 3.5.

Great little getaway spot!
Room was clean and tidy, cozy and welcoming. The entire grounds were well kept. While it rained 95% of the time we were there, the covered porch still let us enjoy some outside time. In between the raindrops we enjoyed the nature path that circled the property. It was easy to locate and very convenient to all the places we wanted to visit and discovered a couple new places along the way. Look forward to visiting again with better weather so we can enjoy the communal deck and firepit! Thanks!

Great place for a weekend getaway from the city
My mom and I booked this as a weekend getaway as we haven't been able to travel outside of the Austin area due to COVID. We were actually upgraded to the Yellow House a couple of days before our stay. The property is pretty isolated from Driftwood and Wimberley, which was a big selling point for us, and it was an easy drive to get to a couple of wineries we wanted to visit. The communal area on the property was neat and we would totally use it if we had a larger group. The Yellow House itself was bigger than we needed for just the two of us but felt very comfortable and would be the perfect stay for a family. It had a fairly well equipped kitchen and a porch with a hot tub. The only thing we felt could be improved was more privacy options for the windows in the living area, and this was noticeable on the other houses around us as well. Sheer curtains and no curtain in the kitchen felt a little odd at night. While we felt safe on the property, there are other people staying in the houses near us and it felt a little odd with how dark it got at night to be sitting in the living area with sheer curtains. The bedrooms did have good privacy. We had an issue with hot water when trying to shower on the first morning, but the issue was fixed quickly by management. The property management group that oversaw the booking did have a delay in sending us our new confirmation info and our day of check in info, both of which had to be resolved by me calling them, but overall this house was lovely and we would totally consider renting out all of the houses for a family event someday.

Nice getaway spot
Stayed over during Valentine's weekend. Unfortunately, that was during the soon to be infamous winter storm of 2021, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the property. Ended up cutting our stay short to ensure we could make it home. Nice cabin property. Some suggestions for improvement: - Didn't realize the cabin didn't have a television. It would be nice if it had one - Shower handle is incorrectly installed so water temp control is a little wonky. Shower head also needs decalcification for better water flow - Outdoor BBQ grill didn't have any propane (since it's communal it would make sense for the property owner to provide). Would certainly give this property another try when the weather is nicer.
