Monticello Cottage is a beautiful, newly built cottage, situated on its own hill, overlooking miles of trees, with exquisite sunsets, starry night skies, fresh air and peace and quiet. The cottage has a fireplace, a fire pit on he porch, gas grill, large loft upstairs, bicycles on request, and a fully equipped kitchen for cooking delicious meals. The deer and little fox, the wild birds and hummingbirds add to the pleasure of this place. This area in known for its wineries, weddings venues, hiking trails and swimming holes. Monticello Cottage is a sanctuary for writers, musicians and readers, couples, business retreats, Wedding stays, is a fun place for families and great for friends to gather and spend time together, grilling on the porch, birdwatching, sitting in front of the fire, or outside on the porch, cycling, or visiting all the interesting wineries, swimming holes, hiking trails, and nearby towns, like Fredericksburg Johnson City, and Wimberley, The beds all have new, top grade mattresses and fresh, cozy bedding, the bathrooms are equipped with shower gels, shampoos and hairdryers, and the pantry is stocked with cooking supplies, herbs, spices, teas and coffee. There is a rice cooker and coffee grinder, pots and pans, good crockery and cutlery, wine and champagne glasses, a washer, dryer and detergents. It is so quiet here at night, you may just hear a lone frog somewhere in the distance. The Primary bedroom has a Kingsize bed with en suite bathroom, guest bedroom has a Queen bed with bathroom en suite, and the upstairs open large loft has a queen bed, twin bed, futon and half bathroom. The upstairs loft closet is packed with toys and books for children too, as well as 2 high chairs and"Guava" Pack n Play in the walk-in closet. We live on the 2.5 acres on the other side of the property, so are available at all hours, but respect your privacy. There is a pet fee of $60 per pet per stay

Winter stay
We had a great family stay during Christmas break. The house is charming and the owner was extremely responsive to questions. The home has numerous accommodations to make you feel like you are truly at home. My kids loved the trampoline and fire out for s’mores. Would highly recommend this rental.

Wonderful home that tucked away in the countryside
The home is cozy but plenty big. The owners have thought of everything you may need. We were in town for our son’s wedding and I needed certain kitchen items to make a dessert. I messaged the host to see if they would be there or if I needed to bring my own. Not only did she respond quickly but she had the items laid out in the kitchen for us!

Lovely cottage
We stayed at Monticello Cottage over the weekend while we were in town for a wedding. The house was clean, spacious, and is in a beautiful area. I had some last minute questions and the host always responded quickly. This home is lovely and was a perfect place for us to stay. Highly recommend!

Last Minute Birthday Get Away
Last minute trip to celebrate our daughter-in-laws birthday. Great location, close to lots of things do, yet felt like we were away from hustle and bustle. Saw lots of deer and a fox. The house was lovely on the inside and had a large porch with plenty of seating, table and outdoor fireplace. My favorite part was that there were so many bath towels and not the skimpy kind. They even provided us with their special blend of coffee, which was delicious, and a gift for our daughter-in- law. The owner was quick to answer any questions and was such a delight when we talked to her. Definitely a place we would stay at again.

A Wonderful Stay
We came for the eclipse, and a relaxing weekend. The Monticello Cottage did not disappoint. The house and property are wonderful, with beautiful views off the front porch. The kids had a great time with the toys upstairs and trampoline while my wife and I relaxed on the porch. The property is less than 20 minutes from Pedernales Falls State Park where we spent a day hiking. Thanks for everything!

Nice get-away
We were there for a wedding in nearby Dripping Springs. Wanted a place for our family to stay besides the typical hotel rooms. Was nice to relax and have a LR and kitchen area. Two bdrms were on main level so didn't need the loft area but could have slept another couple up there

Nice little cottage
We had a great stay at the cottage. The special coffee mix they have is great to make and sit out on the porch with in the mornings and listen to the sounds of the surrounding hill country. Gas stove was great as was the gas fireplace and outdoor gas fire pit. Nicollete is a great host and responds quickly to communications.

Perfect Thanksgiving Retreat
Monticello Cottage was just perfect for our Thanksgiving retreat! House was very clean, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a wonderful gas fireplace indoors and out. We enjoyed spending all of our 6 evenings cooking and relaxing at the house. Nicolette was a great host making sure everything was just right for us. I highly recommend this hill country retreat!

Paradise in the Hill Country
We absolutely loved our stay at Monticello Cottage and Nicolette was a wonderful host. The cottage is extremely well stocked with pantry items, games, books, and DVD movies. The cottage is gorgeous and the large porch area is perfect for watching the deer stop by for their daily visit. Monticello is located less than 15 minutes from the wedding venue that we attended, Camp Lucy. I high recommend a stay at Monticello. Looking forward to a return visit!

The house accommodated all of the people who stayed as well as our two (2) small pets. Far enough away from the city to enjoy the scenery and sounds of being out in the country. We saw deer up close. The property location was good. Definitely would recommend this to family and friends

Amazing home!!
Nicolette is a great host. The location was perfect for the nearby wedding at Mae’s wedding venue. The home was even more charming than the pictures could show. We enjoyed our daily visits by the local deer, birds and squirrels. Everything you need for a relaxing country stay was available. The fresh ground coffee and s’mores were a unexpected treat! The nearby town of Dripping Springs had great local restaurants.

Perfect stay for graduation
Nicolette was a wonderful host. She stayed in touch and made check-in a breeze. My family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed staying in the beautifully-decorated cabin/house. It was very well stocked. There was even a bowl with s’mores fixings to welcome us. My favorite part was lying the hammock on the porch, reading my book, and watching the deer, birds, and squirrels play. I would be very happy to return and would recommend Monticello Cottage to my friends and family. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Delightful Dripping Springs Getaway
We had a wonderful stay. The house was the perfect size for 5 adults! We couldn’t explore the outside property due to rain and cold weather, but it looked very nice. Our only recommendation would be to add a full length mirror! Ha!

Quaint little house with updates! Good enough for 3 couples to enjoy.
Host was easy to communicate with. Instructions were clear and accurate. Comfy beds. Master bath was large, second bath was a little smaller but nice. The second story had a 1/2 bath. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone that enjoys the Hill Country!!

End of year stay - Fantastic
This is our third stay at this property. We love the location. A good wind down after Christmas and before the New Year. Nicolette offered to show us how to use the fireplace however we were cozy and warm without using it. Love seeing the wildlife at the property. We have seen the three legged deer every visit. Can’t wait to return again in 2023.
