Lawson’s Place overlooks Seneca Lake and is directly on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of New York. The house is surrounded by vineyards in a quiet farming region and located directly next to Glenora Winery and Tin Barn Brewery.
Lawson’s Place sits on 1.3 acres of land right on Route 14 in Dundee, NY, about 10 minutes from Watkins Glen, 15 minutes to Penn Yan, and 30 minutes to Geneva. The home was recently remodeled and comfortably accommodates 8 people with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a game room with a futon. There are three TVs with cable and an Xbox One in the game room. We provide towels, washcloths, and bed linens. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, glass ware, and utensils. We also have a coffee maker, oven, microwave, dishwasher and everything else you would need in a kitchen.
Our most popular amenities is the sunroom overlooking the lake that has a fantastic view of the sunrise over the lake, an outdoor fire pit with Adirondack chairs, a gas grill, a game room with an Xbox One with a dozen games, 3 HDTVs, fast internet, a full kitchen, and tons of space.
Many of the area’s attractions are easily accessible from Lawson’s Place, whether your interests are focused on world-class wine and other craft food and beverage sampling, state parks and the area’s many waterfalls, museums, auto racing, agri-tourism, biking, swimming, boating and hiking, fine dining, and/or live entertainment. Literally there is something for everyone.
While many people love being surrounded by vineyards, they are real producing vineyards and the farmers utilize cannons to scare away birds during harvest time in September and October. It can be a bit jarring when you first hear them, but you forget them pretty quickly. Also, we make use of well water and do not have access to city water. We have a very large water storage system in the basement but if you leave water on, you run the risk of running the well dry.
