We had to detour to Dunedin and find a last minute hotel. We grabbed Amross last minute on Expedia. It was quite nice, would be expecially nice for longer stays as it has a full kitchen, large space, and parking. The owners, Barry and Donna, really showed pride in their motel, were very helpful, sent a welcome email and made sure that we booked the correct night. 5 stars aren't enough for them! Location is about 4 blocks from the main square and a couple blocks from the University. Very walkable and drivable town.

I loved staying here, an amazing welcome from the owners and you are instantly made to feel like part of the family. The rooms are.spacious.and comfortable with everything you would need for a stay. The location is perfect and easy walk into shopping centre or uni and with plenty of parking.

Amross Motel was a fantastic stop for us on our drive around the South Island. Barry and Donna are so friendly and helpful, have a fantastic knowledge of the local area. The motel is super clean and has everything you could possible need for your stay. Guaranteed parking with no extra cost to your stay is a major plus. We stayed in one of the balcony spa rooms. The spa was very enjoyable after a big day of walking. 10/10 for the Amross Motel
