Hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. I hadn't realised it was motel style but with a dog having your car outside the door was pretty helpful! Breakfast was good and the dog got a sausage too 😄

Stayed in the courtyard area, had lovely views over the fields at the back. The room itself was a good size, comfortable bed and storage facilities were all of a good standard, just the bathroom needed a little updating as a bit tired. The breakfast was very good (perfect poached eggs) also had our dinner there a couple of times and the food again was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Just 3 miles from Durham City Centre and surrounded by some stunning scenery . Would definitely stay here again if we were venturing up that way.

The room was motel style and a bit past its best. The room looked onto plastic style bins full of soil and weeds, more could be made of them if planted with shrubs. The bathroom was in need of a refurb and needs a deep clean as it was very grubby and dirty. Bedside lamp not working, tv remote falling apart and held together with grubby tape. Restaurant staff very unfriendly and when asked for a drinks price list (which is a legal requirement) said they did not have one as drink prices were being updated. The price we paid for our drinks were very expensive.

Our stay was fine. Comfortable bed, great bed linen and towels. Good shower. Didn’t eat there but had a drink in the bar which was nice. For what we paid it was great and we will definitely return.

Loved it! From the minute we walked into reception. Very friendly and warm welcome. Check in was nice and easy. Room was warm, clean and comfortable. Although the hotel is on a main road, you would never know! Nice and quiet.. Little things like the tea and coffee, the tea was really nice, clearly not cheap and cheerful brand. Breakfast was lovely too, well cooked and again.. really friendly welcome and service was great. Will DEFINITELY stay here again.

Was surprised to find rooms outside of the main building. Room was clean enough but there were areas that that been clearly overlooked for some time, for example fixtures handles in bath a bit grotty, easy to overlook. For price of room can't really complain, quality toiletries provided. Found restaurant service & quality of food to be very good.
