What’s summer without a visit to Cape Cod? Luckily you don’t have to find out when you choose this charming, cedar-shingled home, ideally located in Eastham. It's the perfect spot between Orleans and Wellfleet, with the Cape Cod Rail Trail bike path (half a mile) and ocean and bay beaches (two miles) close by. Spend your days at Coast Guard Beach, Salt Pond, Nauset Lighthouse, and Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, and discover plentiful restaurants, shops, and services within a few minutes’ drive.

At home, highlights of the lovely outdoor space include a huge, fully enclosed yard with lots of room for the kids to play. Relax on the deck with your beverage of choice as dinner sizzles on the grill, then spend the evening roasting marshmallows around the stone firepit.

Inside, you’ll find hardwood floors, a flowing floor plan, and comfortable coastal furnishings. The sunroom is the perfect perch for cracking open a good book while the kitchen features everything you need to whip up a feast. There’s also plenty of mealtime seating at the standalone island and adjacent dining table.

Spend the day on the beach - don’t forget to grab the beach chairs, umbrella, and rolling cooler - then rinse off in the outdoor shower before heading inside. Cool off in the central AC while the washer/dryer does its work, then relax on the couch as you watch a bit of cable TV, stream Netflix, or use the fast WiFi to scroll social media. Four serene bedrooms with brand new mattresses promise a restful night’s sleep, where you can drift off dreaming of your first - and next - idyllic day on the Cape.

Dog-friendly house in great, quiet location
We loved a lot about this house. It has plenty of bedrooms with comfortable beds and A/C throughout. There are two bathrooms and an outdoor shower, which is convenient for a larger group. The kitchen is well-stocked and has both a large dining table and an island/breakfast bar for eating. The location is on a quiet woodsy street just a few minutes bike ride from the bike path and a 10-15 minute bike ride from 2 wonderful National Seashore ocean beaches. We used our car to get to the beach only when we wanted to take the dog along. The fenced-in backyard was fantastic for our dog to relax and play in. The house has been updated to make it comfortable and convenient, but it is not a fancy house in its essence. That was fine with us, but this means that the ground-floor bedrooms and both bathrooms are on the smaller side. The laundry is in the basement down a fairly steep flight of stairs, and the basement is musty as is often the case in older houses. All in all, we truly enjoyed our time in this Eastham house and can easily imagine returning.
