The flat was perfect with new appliances and fittings. It was spacious, light and clean. The staff on duty during check in were helpful, efficient and friendly. As people in their mid sixties who need reading glasses, my husband and I struggled to open all the doors with the code provided. Standing outside in the dark trying to punch in the code was a hassle every time. While doing this we met two other couples our age having trouble doing the same thing. I find a key card much easier. Overall we had a great stay and would return.

Overall i love staying at the Cheval apartments. Wonderfully located both locations, St Andrew’s Square & On the Royal Mile. Decor beautiful and comfort perfect, the price is a little steep, unless an offer is found.

Extremely comfortable property steps away from St Giles on the Royal Mile. Couldn’t have asked for a better location within walking distance of great restaurants and multiple historical sites. Very friendly and helpful staff. Loved having a washing machine in our unit!

Absolutely fabulous location, and great rooms. The staff were unbelievably helpful and the restaurant attached to the hotel was great. I would recommend this hotel every time. We really like the fact that it was a loft that we stayed in and it had a kitchen. Really really great, and we travel all over the world so we were pleasantly surprised.

Room was not ready on time (they were apologetic) and getting a ride to the airport at the end of our stay seemed a difficult task for the front desk. Ultimately, we called an Uber ourselves. Room, location and on site restaurant were excellent.

This is a great location right on the Royal Mile. I was surprised how quiet it was even at night when people were out late just right outside. My only issues were with the size of the apartment. It’s quite small. The bed was very small. But everything was nice and convenient, the staff was helpful and friendly and it was nice to have food options onsite.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a two-night stay, and my experience was quite mixed. Upon arrival, we were given a room that was extremely disappointing. The room was incredibly small, with barely enough space to move around. To make matters worse, the bed, which they referred to as a “UK king,” was more like a standard double—definitely not suitable for two people to sleep comfortably. The bathroom was also a major letdown, positioned awkwardly right next to the bed, making the entire setup feel cramped and far from relaxing. Given the room’s size and overall layout, it certainly didn’t feel like it was worth the price we paid. The first night was honestly quite uncomfortable, and I was not looking forward to spending another night there. However, we were fortunate to be offered an upgrade for our second night, and this completely changed our experience. The new room was in a different building and was significantly larger, with much better amenities. It was exactly what we had hoped for from the start—spacious, comfortable, and with a more pleasant overall atmosphere. One more downside worth mentioning is that the floor of the original building had a noticeable fishy smell, likely due to the restaurant downstairs. Thankfully, the upgraded room in the separate building was free from this issue. In summary, our stay was a tale of two halves: the first night was uncomfortable and frustrating, but the second night in the upgraded room was perfect. If you’re staying here,
