Beautiful cabin

The cabin was beautiful, but not maintained very well. One of the features of the cabin we were most interested in was the outdoor fireplace. Unfortunately it didn’t work. Host said he was going to call the gas company but never heard anything else about it. The shower for the master bedroom was disgusting as it was covered in mold and mildew and the downstairs shower had hair in it. The host did issue a partial refund. There was no sanitizer for the hot tub and judging by the shower we skipped it altogether. Overall, for the price point I was extremely disappointed and had I not had family coming to stay I would have checked out, but we were all several hours from home with no alternate accommodations so we made the best of our time there.

Beautiful view

It was a very peaceful place to be up in the mountains. Cabin was beautiful and spacious. The only bad thing is the road to the house, you'll need a SUV or truck to get there. Overall we love it.

Great weekend get away

The property was great for a weekend stay of my family. The spaces were perfect for us each to have our own space, but the big common area was nice for us to have time together. The one down side was there was rain leading up to our stay and the gravel road had a significant recess so it looked like a huge puddle that we weren't sure that we would get through. Thankfully not very deep. Definitely would recommend this to others.

Memorable vacay

We liked everything about this property and because we had good weather, we especially enjoyed the large wrap around deck! There are rocking chairs to enjoy the view and a large outdoor couch where we could watch TV and have a glass of wine. The kitchen was very well stocked and the mattresses were comfortable. Our host, Joe, was easy to contact and helpful with our questions. Would recommend this property.

Husband’s 60th birthday bash

We have rented multiple cabins on VRBO and this was the nicest by far. Joe was a pleasure to deal with and being a new owner, clearly cared about his guests having the best experience possible. The cabin was beautiful, laid out well, had amazing views and the outside areas on the deck led us to spend each night at home, enjoying the views and the company. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of detergent , ziploc bags, saran wrap, and tin foil, etc- something most cabins lack. It was a memorable weekend and we can’t wait to come back!

Spectacular View

My husband and I booked the cabin to take our 15 year old daughter to the mountains for spring break. We are from Florida, and we visited Blue Ridge last year, so we decided to stay in Ellijay this year. The cabin was amazing! Comfy beds, TVs in every room, and great outdoor space with comfy couch, TV, and fireplace. We had a great time in the area, and my daughter loved having her own space during our stay. The cabin was well stocked, and all we needed was food and fire wood for the fire pit. Since we are used to flat land in Florida, it was a little scary driving in the rain on the roads leading to the cabin, but I became a pro within a few days. I noticed that someone else mentioned this, and I wish I had seen it before I made this mistake, but please do not take a right out of the cabin. There is no road, and I was not able to turn around. I thought my car was going off the cliff. It was terrifying, and I'm not sure why my GPS sent me that way. This was the only snag in our vacation. It was an absolutely fantastic getaway, and we highly recommend staying here. We will be back.

Relaxed friends stay

Our group of 5 enjoyed our stay at Lazy Bear. It was a low key relaxing visit. Just what we needed. The view off the rear deck is wonderful once the skies cooperated. The sunrise was amazing. The beds were comfortable, had lots of blankets (it turned cold on us) and was well appointed. The owner Christa reached out about 2 weeks before our stay to coordinate our stay. We didn't need anything during the stay but it was great to know help would be there if we needed anything. Our group has been coming to the Ellijay area for more than a decade and we will definitely keep this house in the rotation. Please come from Ellijay ( south) ( and exit to the left only no matter what maps says) one friend came from the north and we are literally grateful he made it. It really shouldn't be labeled as a road.

Every detail considered

Wow! What more could you ask for! Amazing communication from the owners from the moment we rented. The house itself is absotutely beautiful. Often pictures online are taken at perfect angles and the actual rental is not as amazing- this is NOT the case. Beautiful my furnished and decorated, quality comfortable beds and linens, stunning views! Even the coffee pot is well thought out- offering the ability to use regular drip coffee or coffee pods. We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return to this amazing property.

Beautiful!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin has so much outdoor porch space, and the most beautiful sunrise views from the porches. Check in was easy, we had great communication with the host, and the kitchen was very well stocked. We have 5 little ones (age 2-11) and there was a high chair provided and the kids loved the foosball table. We enjoyed the hot tub. It is in a beautiful location but not far from Ellijay where there are several good restaurants and a grocery store. It’s not too far to both Blue Ridge and Dahlonega and we went to both of these pretty towns also. I would love to come back every year- we loved this cabin so much!

Wonderful place to settle down and settle in

This was our second stay in this cabin, and it was a true pleasure both times! The cabin owners are great to work with and super responsive to questions. The house is spacious and clean and the beds are most comfortable we have experienced in our many years renting cabins in this general area. A comfortable living and dining area provide a great space to share time together. We cooked all our meals and the kitchen is fully supplied. Very nice grill too! Great view from the hot tub and multiple decks with rocking chairs. Great place!

Everything we were looking for!

We enjoyed our time at the Lazy Bear Cabin so much! Everything was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed and the house was lovely. A little snow made the hot tub extra nice to enjoy with the surrounding trees covered in snow. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend the weekend reminiscing and reconnecting. Christa was very flexible in giving us options when it looked like a snow storm might change our plans. We appreciated that so much! I will definitely look for opportunities to stay at Lazy Bear Cabin again.

Amazing!

The house was amazing! We woke up to watch the sun rise over the mountains each morning and spent the evenings watching Christmas movies by the fire. Even had some deer walk through the backyard! Only qualm was that you have to go a little off-road to get to the cabin, and when you go to leave don't trust the GPS and turn right out of the driveway like I did. Always leave the way you came in! The road is narrow and impassible after a while and there is hardly enough room to turn around. (Honestly, there should be a "road closed" sign or some other marker put up to make sure nobody ends up driving over a cliff.)

Girls trip 2021!

This property is amazing! It is even more spacious than it appears in the photos. The host provided everything we needed for a wonderful experience! I especially loved the basket of blankets for use on the large deck, as well as the side deck fireplace. We enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit, the front porch swing, dining in the dining room, and watching TV in the living room. The host was very quick to respond to questions and even shared links to things she thought we would enjoy! We were a group of 4 women, but this house is perfect for families with children. I have already recommended it to a friend!
