Property was 2 blocks from the beach but was not accessible from there. Property needs major updating. Tub was painted, floors left my socks black, bedding had a musty smell and the blanket felt like curtains.

After the original hassle at check in when the reservation wasn’t found including calling Hotels.com and waiting online, it all went fine. The room was clean enough but the shower has a lot of black spots that looks like mold.

This place is basically like a motel 6- there was no blanket on the bed, just a acrylic bed spread, no fiited sheet just a flat sheet that didn’t even fully cover the mattress pad under the pillows, 3 towels for 2 guests- and super thin, and the water was lukewarm at best. Asked the front desk about it- was told to run the water for 10 MINUTES and then let them know if it warmed up? Took 17 min after we asked them about it. Folks CA is a coastal desert- we conserve water here as a major commodity- that’s so lame. Also I’d say the front desk was cordial- not actually friendly, and the extra $2.50 cleaning fee is just insulting. Cleaning is an expected occurrence with a hotel rental base rate. And they take a cc for additional charges- but there are NO amenities- so what the heck do they need your credit card for? The place is dark, tired, and barebones. Not worth the $130 per night- no matter what the location. It’s a $65 motel 6 justified rate if that’s what you were signing up for - but if you wanted a 7/10 stars (which this was rated on Expedia), folks this isn’t it.

It was all about the least they could do for property maintenance.. I pointed out that my sink was backing up. I was told it was an “air issue” by a member of, the staff, but there was ZERO attempt at solving the problem. I had a backed up sink for three DAYS!!! That is shameful since you have to water your hands or brush teeth and worry about Splashing water.

I give this place five stars for the price and the location. For those two reasons, this place was amazing. If I paid more money, then I would have expected more. The location was perfect! Close to lots of fun, hype restaurants in Leucadia... And only a couple of blocks to the beach.

Only there one night (unexpectedly) so the $60 rate was a deal! Because the rate was so good I decided to take a chance on the location right on Highway 1 and I paid for it with lost sleep - even though it was a low traffic volume I heard every single car that went by! If you could get a quiet room near the back this would be an exceptional location. Oh, and check your bathroom window - mine was stuck in the open position (a skinny thief could climb through).

The only down fall is the Parking. My hubby had to park down the street. But it was easy and fast to check in and out. Which is so convenient. The other thing we didn’t like was the limited channels. No music channels at all.
