This is our second visit to the Mercure Hotel. Overall, the hotel is nice, and the front desk service is excellent. It is conveniently located near the basilica, and the breakfast offered is superb. The Platano restaurant is also a must-try, and the shopping store has everything you might want or need. I am giving the hotel four stars instead of five because when we returned to our room after spending the afternoon at the basilica, we found that there was no shampoo or conditioner provided. We had not brought our own because we were only staying for one night and had left our luggage in the car ( it was past 11 pm). When I called to request shampoo, the representative informed me that the cleaning staff would deliver it the next day. However, if I needed it immediately, there would be a charge of €15. I believe it was the hotel's responsibility to provide basic amenities like shampoo and conditioner, rather than ours.

Right next to the Sanctuary, with very nice facilities, perfectly maintained, and with very friendly and attentive staff. The only thing that bothered us a bit was the A/C un the rooms, that seemed to have a timer; so it turned off after a while.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Hotel. The place was clean, quiet and at a walkable distance from all the religious sites, and from different restaurants. The staff was wonderful, friendly and available to answer our questions when needed. I definitely recommend this place and will go back there again.
