Great spot, just what I needed for a 2 day trip to yosemite. 8 minutes from south gate to the park so very convenient. The food at the restaurant adjacent was incredible, drinks were also top notch. Staff is super friendly and helpful, I would stay here again!
Nice older, family style motel set in the forest with great deck views. Unfortunately, the building is a little shop worn and needs remodeling. Power went out on one import wall plug and water pressure dropped to barely usable the next day when their system had a leak. We'd go again someday possibly, but with different expectations.
Photos on the website was romantized and did not reflect reality. Bathroom was not heated and one sheet had a cigarette burnmark on it.
However, hotel was conveniently situated next to the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad, and we had a wonderful experience riding on that train.
Excellent rustic property, great staff in a beautiful area on the edge of Yosemite.

Our stay was fine and the location is very good being just a few miles from Yosemite. The property is dated and there is no daily house keeping, however, the outside areas were nice and we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening. They do offer a continental breakfast with bagels, cereal, and yogurt. Overall, if visiting Yosemite and unable to stay in the park, the Narrow Gauge is a good option as lodging options close to the park are very limited.
A great find!! Lovely quaint older “motel” in the woods just outside Yosemite Park. Outstanding beautiful friendly bar and restaurant open for dinner was great. Friendly staff
This is literally the best place to stay near Yosemite. It's SO close to the park, and then it's also only about 15 minutes down into a small town with lots of food options/ grocery stores. The restaurant at the Inn is SO delicious! Everyone here was ridiculously kind and made our stay easy peasy. We cannot wait to go back. We have found "our spot" for yosemite now.
Overall we loved our stay. The staff was incredibly wonderful, informative and kind. The restaurant on the property has amazing food and service.
The hotel propert itself is outdated and because you are in the mountain , forest area. Don’t be surprised if critters make it in the room. There was a centipede and a few mountain insects that we had to discard. The shower door didn’t close and the water was either super cold or scorching hot. We had to figure it out. But this was our expectation when coming into the Inn. It’s not your normal Hotel experience, but it was a good experience that we had. Perhaps if they cleaned the room a little better , I’d give more stars. 🙂

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service
Just OK
The food at the restaurant was pretty good, but the service was bad probably because it’s hard to get help. The pool was nothing like the picture that is shown.
Our room was fabulous! Spacious room and bathroom. Very clean. We had a lovely private deck that overlooked the pool. The only thing I would change is the breakfast. It consisted of coffee, juice, bagels, granola bars, apples and grits.
The food at the attached restaurant was very good but expensive.
