Upon checking in there was a gentleman requesting to be moved to another room. I asked the guy was he giving me the room that the guy left, he stated no. When I arrived to the 1st floor room, it was handicapped accessible. My Bonvoy profile states that I do not wish to be placed in an handicapped accessible room, strike one. When I entered the room there was a very unpleasant smell and the room was very dark and musty, strike two. I called the front desk requesting room freshener, I was told that I would have to come and get it as no one was available to bring it. I went out the side door as my room was right next to it. I tried to reenter and the key did not work. I went back up front the young man stated he didn’t know why it did not work; he offered no other assistance. I finally made it back to the room to relax on the broken down couch and realized there was no remote. I grabbed the remote from the bedroom and it was not compatible, strike three lol. I called the front desk to voice my frustration and was told I could be moved to another room, but there were no more one bedrooms. The studio suite that I was transferred to was much nicer. When I checked out I realized that I was billed for the one bedroom suite, I went to the front desk and was told that they would remove $15 for each night lol. I was disappointed in my stay as I expect more from Marriott, especially the customer service.
