rented this house to stay at while attending the Fort Scott College rodeo. It was very close to the arena at the college and easy to get back and forth. The house was clean and warm. The couches have seen better days and for an older person were hard to get up off of but everything else was great. I would stay again.

The little white house
This is a cute spacious house built around 1910 (yep, we Googled) It has many of the original doors, complete with white porcelain door knobs and beautiful woodwork trim and it's located on a fairly quiet red brick road in town. It feels like you are taking a trip back in time. Plenty of room for our family and a nice updated kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Great place to stay
Our second time to stay in house and just as before overall was great. Our grandchildren didn’t even want to leave!! I put a 4 rating on neighbors only because we’re country folks and neighbors are close but if someone don’t mind the closeness it is great. House is set in you good place for being near to Historical town of Fort Scott!

Enjoyed the stay
We had an unexpected trip to Fort Scott, Ks and when I booked this home there was a slight miscommunication but thankfully the Host, Sandy and Vrbro worked together to make sure we got in on are day of schedule. Sandy was beyond helpful and did her best to accommodate the guest. The house is very welcoming as soon as you walk through the front door. From what I looked up the house was built in 1910. If you like the older homes, you definitely will enjoy and appreciate this house. It not only has the old time feel /look to it but with the accommodations of new amenities. It was clean and with a flower smell!! I gave it four stars for three reasons: 1. We are not made perfect!! 2. The first slight check in but well taken care of. 3. We had our dog with us and neighbors next door had plenty of cats!! For the most part of our stay it was relaxing and had what was needed for a comfortable stay without packing a lot of unnecessary things. Fort Scott, Ks has plenty to do if you like to explore historical things. The house sits close enough to town that you could walk to it if your a walker!! If we ever make it back to Fort Scott, Ks again, I know where we would be staying!! Definitely will book again!!

Nice place for a weekend hunting trip
Overall a great little place, plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen is awesome. The living room carpet needs to be cleaned, the railing going upstairs is unstable and should be fixed. The back yard is a bit messy.

Low Quality
Property is very low grade. Everything was dusty and dirty. One shower down stairs and upstairs bath has a tub that has been painted, so picking paint off yourself after a bath isn’t really smiled upon. No trash bags, ice maker does not work and no interior doors lock. Definitely a good idea to remove it from Vrbo as it is not maintained and ready for visitors.

You get what you pay for
This house was a very mixed bag for us. We are very experienced VRBO guests & so we know that you get what you pay for. Our stay was only 3 nights, in the winter. We realized it was a risk to rent a newly listed house with fewer than 5 reviews & the place did not make a good first impression when the front doorknob fell off when we tried to unlock the door (missing set, & collar screws). The deadbolt worked fine however. This is an old house on an old residential street in Ft. Scott. Inside, it's kind of somber & some rooms are a bit slapdash & unkempt. It's a large & kind of odd, rambling interior. There are better & worse rooms. Some are carpeted, others are just the bare, painted-plank floors. We liked the kitchen space best. We always cook. We want to stress that the fundamental features were delivered: the beds, bathrooms, towels & linens were clean. The heat worked. The plumbing worked The doors locked. The beds were comfortable. Communication with the owner was easy & timely & the business was done smoothly. It's always hard to assess risk when you're a stranger in town, but 2 of the 3 exterior doors were back-set locks only. Only the front door had a deadbolt. This might bother some folks, but we felt secure enough in the neighborhood. The down sides: -the front doorknob is broken -the dishwasher doesn't work -many surfaces (excepting living room, kitchen, & bathrooms) are dusty -no hand-towels, just wash cloths & bath-towels -the house is good for large groups but there are very few place settings provided. The up sides: -wifi is high bandwidth & fast -kitchen is spacious, bright, clean -living room is well-furnished & comfortable -there is a LOT of room.

The owner was very kind but the house could have used a cleaning. Went to make coffee in the morning and there was coffee left in the pot molded over.
