This is nothing more than a disgusting hotel. We didn’t even bother to stay it was so bad. I can’t believe Expedia have this even listed. One of our rooms was outside in which we had to access in the pouring rain.
The location is absolutely stunning, the welcome is warm and the house cat is gorgeous - and Queen of this particular castle.
The hotel is beautiful but also quirky. Our room, the Emperor room was nicely decorated in dark green with a big antique cupboard. There’s a lovely view, only very slightly obscured by the conservatory. It has tea and coffee making facilities. The staff are really friendly and helpful. It’s worth noting: our room was not en-suite. The bathroom which is clean and tidy - but has an off putting dark brown/black bathroom suite - was opposite the bedroom. The separate bathroom ok but … the bathroom for a neighbouring room also seemed to be opposite our bedroom door. It’s an old house so the original floorboards and doors make a lot of noise. It did disturb our sleep. We would stay here again, but not bank on getting too much sleep! Breakfast service starts at 0830, so we missed it as we had to leave at 0800. The coastal walk is wonderful.
One of the best Bed and Breakfast places we’ve ever stayed in. The house is located right by the water, a charming manor that’s well maintained. The staff working here are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well stocked with amenities.
The breakfast offers some good options including fresh fruits and Greek yogurt. They also offer laundry service which we took an advantage of. It was very nice to see the folded warm laundry delivered into our room after a day of mountain climbing.
Highly recommended!
Beautiful property and lovely staff. We’d definitely return-
The only thing I think travelers might want to know is that the bathroom, although only for our room’s use, was across the hall. Minor inconvenience, but some people might want to know.
It was a clean hotel, howevet service was well below expectation.
Trainees with bo experience are running hotel. No proper breakfast. Very limites ( only 4 items) Dinner options.
The location and views are fantastic. Rest everything is hopeless
This is a really great bed and breakfast. The hosts are very helpful, and they started our stay with tea and cookies! The rooms are very tastefully restored, and it's a beautiful property right by the water. We enjoyed sitting outside. They provide breakfast, but you can also eat an excellent dinner there for a little extra. Definitely recommend this property.
Not sure if this is really a hotel as the layout doesn’t work. We stayed in the Emperor Room and were very surprised when told that our private bathroom was across the common hallway from our room, and that it could not be locked by us from the outside. So, we couldn’t leave anything in there, anyone could have used it, and in the middle of the night you have to leave your room to go to the toilet. Also, I can’t stand small dining rooms where your conversation is overheard by the next table. It felt more like staying at someone’s house because there was no privacy. Great spa! Very good food. The garden igloos were 50 euro to hire to eat in so nobody used them. They should make them free. All in all nice but wouldn’t do it again.
This was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in. We were served a wonderful dinner and then enjoyed the hot tub with wonderful views. Our room was stunning, we loved the decor. In the morning we were able to eat our breakfast in a bubble that gave us an unobstructed view of the landscape, which was also breathtaking
