great place outside of fort william
we are a family of five backpacking around the UK and wanted to go hiking in the scottish highlands and the fort william area is full of beautiful hikes at different distances and skill levels. fort william it’s self was all booked up so we had to look a bit further away, so we found this place. the apartment is right off the train line, and when i say right off, you practically run into the door when you get off the train which was great for us as we were tired from a long day of train hoping. the couple running the place were wonderful. very friendly and helpful and willing to be on call whenever for whatever. she even started our laundry when we couldn’t! the place is about two blocks from a great little grocery store and a bus line. the apartment it’s self was perfect for our family. three rooms with plenty of beds and a large living room area with very comfy lazy boy chairs and a great view of the water. very clean. the one challenge is if you are w/o a car, even though you are right next to the train, the train isn’t that active in this tiny town. fort william is only 5min by train, but 25-30min by bus, so you just have to be careful to look at schedules to make sure you get to where you need to be. also, this is a tiny town, so to find a good restaurant you need to be in fort william. that said, it was a home base for the most beautiful hiking we did all trip :)

Worst place I've ever stayed at! They refused to answer emails. You have to "lock" your family members in, if you had to run to the store. No internet.

The owner was extremely welcoming and gave us a tour of the apartment on arrival. Overall look is slightly dated but very homely and well-maintained, and we loved the very plush sofas in the living room. We had a large group and there weren’t enough power plugs - be sure to bring an adapter. The property is right beside the train station and we could see the Jacobite steam train at certain times of the day, right from our window! My friends loved the location as it was far enough from busy city centre yet convenient enough as a base to explore the surroundings as far as Glencoe.

It is just behind the station so we were treated to close up views of the Jacobite steam train in the morning and it is just at the end of the canal so easy to get out for a morning walk. Nearby CoOp helps with the self-catering.

Tolle Lage bei Fort William direkt an der Glenfinnan Eisenbahnstrecke. Man kann den Harry-Potter-Zug zweimal am Tag vorbeifahren sehen. Liebenswürdige Hauswirtin. Einfache Ferienwohnung.

Het appartement bevindt zich op een prachtige locatie aan het meer (met uitzicht over het meer). Qua omgeving geef ik het een goede 8 score. Het appartement zelf was minder. Het appartement van binnen is heel oud en versleten en toe aan vervanging. De slaapbank was oud en het matras van keihard (zonder vering). De afzuigkap hing half los. Ook de badkamer moet vervangen worden.
