Nice room although dated. Nice sea view. Breakfast great although always the same. Evening meal varies.Hadva great meal on our last evening. Would have liked a kettle in the room to make drinks. Bar was never open

The hotel is small and welcoming. The room décor is a little dated but very clean and comfortable. The dining room is lovely and the food - both breakfast and dinner was excellent. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and we enjoyed our week's stay despite the weather being dull and windy. I can't believe how reasonable their prices are.

Keep this place a secret as we wish to return!
Caring, helpful staff (especially from Goncalo and Sonja but including all staff). Excellent quiet location with good views. Easy walk to the local bus stop for access to Funchal. Fantastic meals.

Enjoyable break
Our second visit and spent 3 nights at the hotel, wonderful food. Room service tray of tea good value but would have liked a tea tray in the room. Would certainly make a return visit if possible.

Petit hôtel (20 chambres, toutes sauf 4 ont la vue sur la mer) Emplacement parfait, à la limite de Funchal, accès très rapide à la voie rapide. Parking privé de l’hôtel (13 places), s'il est plain, parking facile dans la rue, il y avait plain de places vides chaque jour. Supérette à 50m (7-21h) Arrêt bus (N 02) pour aller au centre ville à 100m Plage de galets en contre bas (en revenant il faut monter 65m de denivelé). Difficile de rentrer dans la mer sans les chaussure de canyoning. Heureusement à coté il y a des piscines naturels avec accès mer par échelle (5,5€/personne, moitié prix après 18h) Chambre très bien agencé, nous étions 3, il y avait suffisamment de place,4 prises électriques pour charger les appareils, beaucoup de place pour mettre les affaires dans la salle de bain; Points négatifs (mineurs): il manque la bouilloire et un seche serviette sur le balcon. Diner à la carte (plat 15,5€, soupe 2,5€, dessert 3€) et pas le buffet, mais le repas est très bon. Petit déj en buffet. Service un peu lent. La nuit il y a un peu de bruits (les chiens qui aboient dans l'immeuble à coté et les voitures qui montent avec un vrombissement du moteur dans la rue), ce n'est pas très important, mais si vous avez le sommeil léger, prenez les bouchons d'oreilles. Piscine peu profonde. Au total - excellent séjour, je reviendrais surement.

Personnel très courtois et très serviable. Le personnel nous ont dépanné a quelques reprises(Merci!!) La chambre ou nous étions était correct/standard. L'hôtel est légèrement excentré donc tranquille de façon générale mais est proche de quelques restaurants, boutiques.(15 min. a pied d'un supermarché/centre commercial) Nous y retenerions

Chambre tres propres accueil agréable En demi-pension le petit-déjeuner et le dîner sont tres sympa. Léger bemol : la piscine, et certaines installations qui mériterait un petit rajeunissement. Sinon sejour agréable globalement je recommande au rapport qualité prix

Een hotel met een goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding
kamer is wat outdated, dat kan wel een opknapbeurt gebruiken. Een toiletbril (hout) waar de verf afbladdert. Een wasbak met een scheur. Wel schoon en een mooi balkon met uitzicht op zee. Het ontbijtbuffet is erg uitgebreid met allerlei soorten brood, vleeswaren, kaas, eieren en spek, veel vers fruit, etc! Personeel is gastvrij en vriendelijk. Auto kun je op eigen terrein parkeren. WiFi werkt op de 2e etage niet.

Flott opphold på et bra hotell i rolige omgivelser
Vi ble svært godt mottatt på hotell Escola! De som jobbet i resepsjonen var smilende og blide og alltid klare til å hjelpe oss med ulike spørsmål, f.eks ang levada vandring, bussruter osv. Rommene var forholdsvis store, greit møblert, de var lyse og fine med havutsikt! Det var kjøleskap på rommet! Der var svært godt renhold overalt på hotellet! Frokosten var god, og personalet i spisesalen var hyggelige! Vi spiste middag der noen ganger, maten var god og billig, smilende personale og god service! Der var en fin hage og flotte terrasser i fellesområdene!

Nettes und kleines Hotel in Stadtnähe
Das Hotelpersonal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Ausstattung war ausreichend (Kühlschrank, Safe gegen Gebühr, Badewanne, Fön, äterer Fernseher, Balkon), allerdings sind die Möbel schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber. WLAN gibt es im Erdgeschoss und in der 1. Etage. In den Zimmern ist kein Internetzugang möglich. Parkplätze sind direkt vor dem Eingang und waren auch immer ausreichend vorhanden, daher hat man nie einen Parkplatz suchen müssen. Das Frühstückbuffet war in Ordnung, es hätte etwas abwechlungsreicher sein können. Am Abend bietet das Hotel ein Menü für einen vernünftigen Preis an, das auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen ist. Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb der Innenstadt, man hat direkten Blick auf das Meer und einen kleinen Strand. Eine Buhaltestelle befindet ca. 100 m entfernt. Ein kleiner Supermarkt ist ebenfalls schnell fußläufig zu erreichen. Bustickets bekommt man an der Rezeption, die man in dem Supermarkt "aufladen" kann.

We stayed one week in February in the hotel and we were very pleased with this stay. The service was perfect. The room was big and clean, towels are changed each day. The view to the ocean and the sunset is very beautiful. The breakfast is very good (highlights: fresh fruits, fresh bread), only the strawberry jam was too industrial. The restaurant proposes dinner for 15€ pro person, it is a very good solution. The hotel is not away from Funchal but a walk to the city center will take you 1h. There are several buses that pass near the hotel: line 2 bus stop is 2 min away from the hotel, and there is also line 1 some 300 m further. Very beautiful walks are possible on the seaside (10 min from hotel). A shopping center is available 10 min. away from the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel.

Проживали в отеле с женой в начале октября. Встретила на рецепции нас очень милая сотрудница, которая помогла нам с заселением, а также вкратце рассказала об основных достопримечательностях острова. Завтраки были однообразными, но в то же время очень вкусными.Каждый раз по возвращении вечером в номер обнаруживали сменные полотенца в ванной и легкую уборку в самом номере. Пару раз выезжали из отеля очень рано, поэтому завтрак нам приносили заранее с вечера "сухим пайком".
