Great for families and friends traveling together.
This newly restored historic home in the Duckpond area of downtown Gainesville is within walking distance of many bars and restaurants. It is also just minutes away from UF campus.
One bedroom has a king bed 2nd bedroom has a queen bed- perfect for families or for friends sharing a home. We also provide a queen-sized air mattress with sheets and pillows. Please let us know at time of booking if you need an air mattress.
Great for families and very peaceful surroundings.
Visiting Gainesville for UF sports, graduation, Shands, or sightseeing? We have the perfect place for you. Come back and relax after your event- or watch your event from the flat-screen TVs in the living room and bedroom. The house was renovated the summer of 2012 (it's 1250 SF heated/ cooled).
You can walk to downtown bars and restaurants. The historic Thomas Center is just 3 short blocks away. We are also just a 10 minutes drive from La Chua Trail (a Florida State Park) where you are guaranteed to see 1 to 100 alligators.
We are also just 2 miles from UF campus, the Swamp, and the O'Connell Center.
The owners live next door to the house, and can be easily reached via phone and e-mail.
The shared backyard is fenced in and maintained by the owners, and connects to the backyard of the owners and our other historic rental home (the backyard is meticulously maintained with beautiful seasonal flowers and greenery-- winter is iffy for flowers depending on the weather).
The whole house is for the guests, and the backyard area is shared with 1 other rental house and the owners, and is beautifully maintained.
I allow for self-check in so that guests have privacy, but I'm available anytime I'm needed via phone, e-mail or in person.
Beautiful historic Duckpond neighborhood in downtown Gainesville.
Most bars and restaurants are within walking distance, but everything is within driving distance, and there is also a bus stop nearby.
The house has 3 small steps to get into all 3 entrances (it's a historic home and is slightly elevated). Once inside, it is all one level.
Please note that the AirBNB extenuating circumstances cancellation policy does not cover hurricanes in Florida or COVID, but the insurance covers both 100%. We ask that you please purchase AirBNB cancellation insurance at check-out in order to cover any unforeseen changes that would cause a cancellation or early departure that is outside of the cancellation window (i.e. weather related, health related, flight issues, etc...). AirBNB offers insurance at check-out and if a circumstance arises that would cause a cancellation or early departure (outside of the cancellation range, or an early departure that arises during your stay), then the insurance policy will refund you 100% as long as it's within the terms. Thanks! And we hope that nothing would come up that would interfere with the trip, but we want to make sure you're covered just in case.
If no insurance policy is purchased, that's OK, too- we are happy to open up the dates on the calendar and try to re-rent. If we can re-rent, then we can refund the amount recuperated, but we cannot issue a full refund unless we can re-rent from an early departure or cancellation.
Thanks so much- we are looking forward to welcoming you!
