The property is old, and it shows in all kinds of ways. The carpet is beaten down, stained at many places. If you end up getting a room in the 1000 series, be prepared for a long walk thru small dark corridors. The commode in the bathroom want working. Overall, it looks good from the outside, but needs a lot of upkeep.

3 day Galway break
We booked a deluxe seaview room and found it was quite tired and in need of a facelift. The toiletries were basic and our first night and morning the water was cold in the taps and shower. Once we mentioned this at the desk it was resolved. We had also booked breakfast for the 3 mornings we were there but after the first morning we cancelled the rest because the breakfast was not good. Very few options and what we did have was cold. All in all we enjoyed our stay in Galway but were disappointed with the overall look and comfort of a 4 star hotel like the Galmont and expected a higher level of luxury for what we paid

Very disappointed service and hotel facilities. The safe doesn't work. We had an inside room on the first floor. It was above the bar. You can clearly hear the stuff dragging the chairs at midnight. And it's the way to the spa. People were really noisy on the corridor. it was a weekend evening. At 2 o'clock, someone was drunk and were talking loudly. The most expensive booking hotel on my trip in Ireland. The worst ever hotel I had in my life. Drive 10 min cross the river, you may find a much better choice.

We loved our stay here in Galway! The pool and hot tubs were just what we needed after a day of exploring the city. The patio was great, many pictures of the sunrise and sunset over the water. Highly recommended!
