Fancy a round of golf? Stay in Borgo Santa Chiara and you’ll find your lodgings at the edge of an 18-hole course. Yet, improving your swing isn’t the only thing to do here in Grosseto in the south-west of Tuscany.



It’s less than 20 minutes’ drive to the beach at Follonica and, just half an hour away, you can set sail from Piombino or Punta Ala to the Tuscan islands. Look inland and, rising from the plain, the nearby hilltop town of Massa Marittima, begs a stroll around its ancient streets, lined with beautiful palazzi and churches. It’s handy for shopping, too – pick up some of the tasty fruit and vegetables famously grown in this area.



The gardens are part-communal beyond the high hedges and from the shared pool it's only a short walk across the golf course to the clubhouse and restaurant.

About the villa

A sleek and smartly designed semi-detached town-house with views from the balcony and funished terrace across the greens to the hills.  This is a bright and roomy place with largely contemporary décor and furnishings, yet there are also references to the Tuscan setting with terracotta floors and shuttered windows. You’re shielded from your neighbours by high hedges, for a touch of privacy.



It is possible to rent a private beach space at Pratoranieri (18km) with chairs and a parasol for an additional fee. Please enquire with the owner on arrival.
