THE SPACE
The Red House is a one level home featuring a large living room with a flat screen TV, a kitchen that is well equipped to prepare meals and comfortable seating areas. This cozy home was built in 1952 but has undergone several updates over the years. Choose to dine in the dining room that seats 6, the eat-in kitchen nook for 2, or in warmer months, in the backyard seating area.

Three comfortably furnished bedrooms include a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen and 2 twins in the guest bedrooms.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE
THIS IS A NON SMOKING PROPERTY. The use of tobacco, cannabis or vapor devices is strictly prohibited.  Disregarding this Rule may result in a fine.

We HIGHLY recommend you purchase trip cancellation insurance to help protect your vacation since NO REFUNDS if cancelled less than 14 days of arrival; inclusive of illness,  flight delays, cancelled flights, storms, road conditions or road closures. We suggest CSA Travel Protection, www.vacationrentalinsurance.com. Please inquire about coverage.

Dog friendly however there are large gaps in the fenced in backyard so smaller dogs should remain on a leash, especially since this home is near a busy street. Limit of 2 dogs. PLEASE INQUIRE ABOUT PET FEE. Must be crated when left alone. Please request to review our Dog Rules prior to your arrival.

Though this home doesn't have air conditioning, it has an evaporative cooler and fans for your comfort.

This home is equipped with a Pack-n-Play and highchair. Located in the closet.

The living room fireplace is currently inoperable.

The grill is only available in warmer months.

Great family home
This is a great property -we would stay there again. This is a comfortable older home with updated kitchen and baths. Very large living area had plenty of seating to accommodate the whole family. Large back yard was great if traveling with pets. I would have given an overall excellent rating, except that the twin beds aren't great for adults (small and hard mattresses) and the property is on the corner of a busy main road- the neighborhood is in a great location but you can hear the cars at night from the master bedroom.

We enjoyed our long weekend here. We needed a dog friendly place, and this fit the bill nicely. It is in a quiet neighborhood setting quite near the river, a paved bike/walk path and adjoining nature/open space. The location is close to the lively downtown and its restaurants/stores. The home is well appointed, with a big living room and comfortable couches.

Old and out of date furnishings is one thing. We can handle that. Dirty is quite another.
The housekeepers you hire do not do a complete job. The placed smelled like a dusty attic when we walked in. We discovered later the vacuum cleaner they have been using was filled and never emptied. Which may have been part of the reason. Lint in the dryer appeared to be months old. Never cleaned out. A mouse ran through the kitchen. The backyard and front porch were unusable. Filthy and covered with spider webs. Regular network television did not exist. Only online TV channels. We decided to clean the place ourselves and found candy wrappers and empty water bottles under the sofa. Under the master bed was a female, red teddy nightgown. Your housekeepers never look under the furniture. The lawn was crabgrass and weeds up to your ankles. I'll stop there. We couldn't wait to leave and we'll never be back.

The red house is conveniently located off the main drag in Glenwood Springs. Large enough for everyone and a yard for dogs, but not smaller dogs. They need to be watched. Our two escaped through the wall that has large designed portions cut out and on to a busy street. But other than that it was a good time. Thankfully no pups were hurt.

Our house wasn't quite ready due to the previous guests checking out late and the cleaners needed their time to get the property ready for us....however the home was very clean and when we asked for a 1 nite early check-out they worked with us and even refunded us the 1 nite for our troubles. That made the delayed check in much easier to look past.

The best thing I can say is the property was clean, comfortable and convenient. The house needs a serious update. For the price I would expect a little higher end finishes, a fence that actually kept dogs contained- it is a VERY busy street- small dogs can easily fit under the gate , big dogs could right through, a fireplace that worked,etc. the house guide says not to turn the thermostat above 68’, but that the fireplace does not work. Luckily I don’t like it too warm, but you have people traveling from all parts of the country to enjoy the mountain winter, but not above 68’. Hmm. The trash situation is curious as well. We didn’t mind putting it out - even several weeks’ worth, but beware during bear season. After reading the house guide I understand why no one wants the responsibility of possibly attracting bears and getting fined if you don’t do it right. The hot water was a bit lacking - there were only 2 of us, not sure how 5 people would have enough every morning. The check in process and the management team were helpful and very responsive as we left some items in the house after checking out. The location is very convenient and the house although old and dated was clean and comfortable.

Nice Property
The red house is an older home but it has been updated and and has a very warm homey feeling. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a nice meal. We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner there. The living room is very nice and has a lot of room for people to sit and relax. We will definitely stay here again!

We had a nice stay at the Red House, easy check in and very responsive management company throughout our stay. The home is well stocked with comfort items such as games, DVDs, dishes, robes, pack n play and high chair. It snowed while we were there and the walk was shoveled early that morning which was thoughtful. Only complaint was that there were no extra cleaning supplies such as trash bags or dishwasher soap so it made it hard to clean up after ourselves.

The Red House was a great place and served our purpose well.
We had a very good time at the Red House. We were able to sit and relax when we wanted and the house was close enough to be able to walk to downtown. We did have 1 issue but I don’t think it was the property manager’s fault. A obviously dirty towel was folded and placed back on the shelf with the clean towels
