The town has the United Kingdom’s furthest inland port, being about 50 miles from the North Sea. Goole is a popular location for bird watching, with several nature reserves and wetlands in the surrounding area. Goole has a range of events and festivals throughout the year, including the Goole and District Agricultural Show and the Goole Waterways Festival to name a few.
