Nestled in the vibrant Idlewood neighborhood, The Urban Birdhouse offers a unique tiny living experience designed for comfort, creativity, and connection. Originally built by Tiny House Greensboro, a local non-profit focused on skill-building and reducing homelessness of Veterans, this charming tiny home was lovingly updated in 2021 and is now a permanent accessory dwelling unit (ADU). Whether you’re in Greensboro for work, exploration, or relaxation, The Urban Birdhouse provides a cozy and memorable stay.

About The Urban Birdhouse

This thoughtfully designed tiny home maximizes space and functionality, blending modern amenities with a minimalist aesthetic. Ideal for short or long stays, it’s perfect for solo travelers, couples, or anyone looking to experience tiny living.

Main Features:

Living Area: Equipped with a Smart TV (no cable) and all the essentials to unwind after a day of exploring.

Sleeping Loft: Accessible via ladder and featuring a queen-sized memory foam mattress with 100% cotton linens, and multiple pillow and blanket options for a restful sleep.

Kitchenette: Includes a microwave convection oven, one-burner hot plate, compact refrigerator, drip coffee maker with mugs and glasses, and essential cooking tools.


Bathroom: Standard flushing toilet, toilet tissue, towels, a handheld shower head in a standard shower stall with shampoo, conditioner, body wash provided.

Private Deck: Step outside to the small deck with seating for two—perfect for sipping your morning coffee or enjoying an evening under the stars.

Off-Street Parking: Convenient parking is available in the shared yard, ensuring easy access to the home.

Heating & Cooling: The home features a wall heater and a window unit AC. Guests can adjust the temperture to meet their personal comfort needs and are advised that the tiny house is a small space that can change temperature rapidly. Please leave the wall heater in the “on” position in the winter after checkout to prevent wter pipes from freezing.

We are a local, non-corporate guest home rental management company dedicated to supporting Guilford County high school students with learning differences. Through hands-on experience in our homes, these students gain real-world skills and opportunities for growth. House Guidelines

To ensure a smooth and respectful stay, please review the following guidelines:

Flushing Policy:

Only flush natural waste and toilet paper. Do not flush sanitary products, wipes, diapers, or cotton items. Improper disposal may result in repair fees of $100–$500.

Trash & Recycling:

Green can: Trash

Brown can: Recycling (no plastic bags, please)

Trash and recycling are picked up on Mondays (except holidays).

Quiet Hours:

Please keep noise levels low from 9 PM to 9 AM to respect neighbors and other guests.

Checkout:

Set the wall heater to the “on” position.

Remove all trash to outdoor bins.

Leave the space as you found it, free of personal items.

Report any accidental damage.

Pet Policy

We welcome pets with a non-refundable fee based on size, number, and shed level. Please:

Dispose of pet waste in designated bins.

Direct pets to non-grass areas to prevent lawn damage.

Use a containment system for managing cat litter, and treat our home respectfully.
