Never book with hotels.com again
I needed a king size bed. They did not even try. I did not stay in the hotel. I lost the over one thousand dollar reservation because I could not cancel. First time someone does not even seem to try to accommodate. I have been a member for years and spent thousands of dollars with hotels.com. This will be my last time ever booking with you and will tell the family to do same. Nor hotel staff or hotels.com staff willing to help even though this would have been the first time I ever requested something like this.

We really like this hotel. My relatives who live in the city live nearby and the staff is very friendly. Nicole who works in the Rooftop bar is fantastic - friendly, thoughtful and very customer service oriented. She found a beautiful table for my party and we had a great time. I'd also like to recognize the staff in Dreams for their hospitality. Our room had a great view and was very spacious. We did have two issues, however: The shower in the master was very difficult to regulate water temperature. Also, the second toilet does not flush properly and takes hours for the tank to fill. We chose to not have room service during our stay and we could "live" with both of these issues, but they need to be fixed for future guests. We will continue to stay at the Riu but I think it's important for the maintenance staff to not ignore these issues because they will only grow. Further, it should not neglect that sometimes customers simply don't bother to write reviews or state their grievances as these are not signs that everything is right. I point out these problems so the hotel could get better and better (because we want to continue staying here!). Thank you.

Checking in was not great, employees did not explain many details and amenities/activities that hotel offers. We did not know we couldn't go to another floor to get ice. Nothing was explained at check in. Pool was okay, dreams bar was great and so where the bartenders, they had different events every night. One of the workers Zermeño was the one who explained and gave details on all events going on thru the hotel. One of the days we chose to have the room cleaned, I left about 200 pesos in coins out by the TV stand, when we came back to the room that money was gone. I did not leave a note for employee to take the money, and even tho it is not a lot $, its not right to take the money. Really expected more from this hotel since it is considered to be a nicer than average.
