About Sun Dune

Located just steps from the beautiful beaches of Fort Morgan in Gulf Shores, AL, Sun Dune offers guests the perfect opportunity to enjoy Gulf views and sunshine from atop the sand dunes. The multiple levels of both gulf and bay facing decks provide guests the perfect spot to relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy a sunset and the sound of the waves. The unbeatable views are just the beginning! Under the house, guests will find plenty of space for parking and a provided charcoal grill. The enclosed outdoor shower allows for a quick rinse off after enjoying a day at the beach! Access to the beach is a short walk, under 5 minutes from this Gulf Shores vacation rental!

After enjoying the sun and sand all day, Sun Dune offers guests ample space to relax and enjoy some down-time on vacation. On the main floor, the open living area offers plenty of comfortable seating, access to the deck to bring the outside in, and a large TV to cozy up and enjoy a movie. the dining area features 2 dining tables to seat a total of 11 with views from both. The bar seats an additional 4 guests. The kitchen is incredibly spacious and provides plenty of room to prepare a meal for a crowd! A dedicated ice maker, extra mini fridge, wine fridge, and small appliances are provided along with cookware and dinnerware. 

Located on the main floor, the large master suite features a king sized bed to sleep 2, access to the deck, a TV and an en-suite bathroom. The private master bathroom features double vanities and a tub/shower combo with added handheld shower feature. Also on the main floor is bathroom 2, which is a hall bathroom and features a walk-in shower. There is a sleeper sofa in the living area to sleep 2. 

Upstairs, guests will find 3 additional bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms as well as both north and south facing decks. Bedroom 2 features 2 twin beds, access to the bay side deck, and a TV. Bedroom 3 features a queen sized bed, access to the gulf side deck, and a TV. Bedroom 4 is a second master suite, featuring a queen sized bed, access to the gulf side deck, and a TV. Bedrooms 3 and 4 share access to the second floor covered deck and amazing gulf views! The second floor also features a shared hall bathroom with a tub/shower combo.

Whether relaxing in the spacious interior, enjoying the breathtaking views from the multiple decks, or experiencing all Gulf Shores has to offer, guests will love soaking up the sun at Sun Dune!


About Fort Morgan

Fort Morgan is a quiet beach community away from the crowds and congestion. On the peninsula, guests will find the following restaurants: Tacky Jacks 2, Sassy Bass, Coast Restaurant, The Village Hideaway, and The Kiva Grill. Guests can play golf at the Peninsula or at Kiva Dunes. There is an accessible boat launch and marina at the Gulf Shores Marina at Fort Morgan. Last but not least, there is a historical Civil War Site to explore at the Fort Morgan Historic Site. There is something for everyone in Fort Morgan!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sun Dune. The space was big enough for our family and the kitchen was well stocked for a crowd. SUPER clean, which was a major plus for me. Would definitely book again.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Sun Dune. The kitchen has all the cooking/baking necessities you need. They supply you with a sanple box of soap and 2 dishwasher pods, so you might plan to bring more (same with bathroom needs). Dollar General is just down the street if you happen to forget anything! The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. The walk to the beach wasnt bad at all and you walk the majority of it on a boardwalk. The outdoor shower wasnt working upon arrival, but they came out next day and got it fixed for us so that was great and quick! We had the best time staying here!

Overall, a great and memorable stay
We felt that this was a beautiful home close enough to the beach, with plenty of space for our large family, and fantastic views. We loved the big kitchen and the cheerful, bright colors in the rooms, too, which reminded us of our old beach house and gave us a warm feeling of nostalgia. There were even board games that we and the kids loved, and plenty of TVs for all of us. The beautiful, white sand beaches and mostly clear water were wonderful treats at this property. We saw dolphins, and even a shark, which happened when we were in the water, so definitely be mindful of all the nature and beauty around the Fort Morgan area. Unfortuntately, when we arrived, it was dark out, and both the exterior ground level lights and keypad were not workong, which did cause a big scare. We eventually got in with the lockbox after unloading our vehicle in the dark and reported the issue. The floors really could have used a deep clean, as we couldn't walk on them barefoot for even a few seconds without sand and lots of dirt showing on our feet, and the twin bedsheets had some of the sand in them when we arrived, as well. There were also a few other cosmetic / maintenance issues that, while they did not necessarily affect our stay, we reported so as to notify the owner. Overall, though, this was a great and memorable stay, and we would consider staying again with the hopes that the pre-check-in cleaning process, the actual check-in, etc. could be improved next time around. Thank you again

Roomy family vacation house
We were pleasantly surprised, as the pictures do not do justice to the space available in this house. This was our annual family get together, for the first time our Great Grandson was there for 2 nights That was a real treat. The only issue we had for our entire stay was we were never able to get any power down stairs. It was not a big issue. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for a large family or even two smaller families.

Our family of five enjoyed all the large common areas. The walk to the beach was easy! The walk back from the beach was a little more difficult because of the steep dune but if you keep your head down and just GO it’s fine.

Great house, steep hill
My family and extended family (11 people, age range 3-66) rented this house in June. It was even better than we had expected! The house was very clean and so much space!! There were more beds than we were expecting, which allowed for better sleeping arrangements for 5 kids, 10 and under. The kitchen is huge and the dining tables allowed everyone to sit together for meals and games. The decks outside have gorgeous views and a good amount of seating to enjoy the outdoor space. The furniture and fixtures were all top notch, unlike a lot of other rentals we have stayed in previously with cheap furniture that squeaks anytime you sit on them :( Lots of movies and games provided in the house for night-time and all the TVs were loaded with apps. We were all able to park under the covered parking areas with plenty of space. There were plenty of boogie boards and other sand/beach toys in the bins under the house. The outdoor shower was great to get the sand off before going upstairs. And, did I mention the beach??!! It is GORGEOUS!! The water was clear and the sand was white and clean. The water was not deep and the waves were gentle, which was perfect for our two 3-year-olds and their first time at the beach. There were fish everywhere, dolphins in the distance, and we even saw a few jellyfish and sharks up close! NOTE: we did get a couple jellyfish stings, so be sure to pack the vinegar! My ONLY critique of this property is the lack of boardwalk leading to the main boardwalk. The hill from the house to the boardwalk is STEEP. We had wagons with beach stuff and tents to haul down to the beach and back each day. No problem moving it all along the wooden boardwalk, but the steep, sandy hill was a different story. We loved our stay in the house, but the exhaustion from walking to/from the beach did put a little damper on the overall experience. Overall, we had a wonderful week and a great time with our family! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!

Nice home, quiet beach
I enjoyed my stay. The walk to the beach is a little long and not the best fit for my older parents, however the view is awesome and the beach is not crowded especially considering it was 4th of July weekend. The best part was the free firework show over the ocean that was right down the beach at beach club. We had a perfect view from our balcony. I would definitely recommend if you don't mind a walk to the beach.

Lots of space, location is far from activities
Upstairs bedroom the carpet was wet and smelled. Place had a lot of space for everyone. Was just disappointed that they charged us extra for additional pets as we were evacuated due to Ida and had no other place to go and knew we had extreme damage to our homes so the extra money spent was not needed at that time. Our dogs were all older and house dogs. I know business is business but some compassion would have been nice as it has been two weeks we are home still out of electricity and water so a good jester would have been appreciated. The overall house is nice and spacious.

Evacuation turned Beach trip
While evacuated from the New Orleans area for Hurricane Ida we found this beach house available for a couple of days. It was very spacious and well furnished. We had a few issues with repairs but the property manager was quick to respond.

Very nice house!
Interior of the house was quite nice! Mattresses could use to be replaced. The decks are very nice for breezy shade or sun bathing - they could use some refinishing as splinters are abundant so tread carefully. Can't beat the beaches on this Fort Morgan road as they are much less populated. We would stay here again!

Excellent Time At Sun Dune
We had a great stay at Sun Dune. It was our first time staying in Fort Morgan or in a beach house. It felt like home away from home, especially since it was pet friendly and we could bring our dog Mia. We were lucky that there wasn't any damage from hurricane Sally that several other properties around the area did. We had most of the beach to ourselves because there was hardly anyone around. The Blue Angels were out practicing so we got to see them on two different days. With Covid, we stayed around the house (on the awesome deck) most of the time, but did eat outside at Tacky Jack's and got carry-out from Behind the Pines and Shrimp Basket in Gulf Shores. I am already looking at dates to hopefully come back some time next year. One addition that would make Sun Dune even more perfect would be some umbrellas or something else to give some more shade on the deck.
